The specifications said "Up to 3.3mph for 90 minutes", but if you read the owners manual, it quoted only 50 minutes continuous running (I assume at max speed). I timed it and the manual was correct, the low battery indicator started blinking at about 50 minutes after running at max. You might get 90 minutes if you stop and go and use a slower speed, but this is not a true indicator of battery life.
I have had a Torpedo 2000 and while slower, it seemed to be "torquer" than the Sea-Doo Explorer, when pulling another diver or going against a current, but not as fast as the Sea-Doo in normal conditions. Need to make apples to apples comparisons, since the Explorer is priced against the slower low end Torpedo 2000, but its compared with the model 2500 which is faster, however with less running time. The Explorer is lighter than the Torpedo and positively weighted versus the negative weighted Torpedo. I slipped a weight belt around the Explorer, so it wouldnt float away if I left it alone and untethered to me. Its almost impossible to steer the Explorer with one hand, because of the short body and torque, but you can do this with the Torpedo.
The Explorer battery is very expensive compared with the Torpedo, but it does not seem to be any better in performance in running time.
Not bad for the price, but we shall see how it stands up to the rigors of time.

as soon as i recieved it i charged the battery used it it worked great got back didnt use it for about 4 weeks the next time i charged it it started to charge then shut off (the charger that isit would blink red for about 4 min then shut off and stay off i tried this for about 4-5 times then finally it stayed on for 6 min then started blinking green as if it were fully charged since then i have sent the battery and charger to seadoo to have it evaluated i had purchased 2 and the same thing happened to both batteries and chargers)it works great as long as the battery charges.

très bon produit, facile a manipuler dans l eau. Trois vitesse. intéressant on sens la pression de leau sur les épaules sur la plus grande vitesse. je les emporter en voyage au mexique et sa ne conte pas comme bagage car ses un sport. on leur dit que ses pour la plonger sous-marin.
SCUBA.COM il donne un excellent service un voie ta commande passer il tenvoie ton produit sens tarder. je reste a Montréal, Québec, canada, et en deux semaines je les reçus même plus vite que ce quil mon dit a la fin de ton achat. Fantastic scooter, especially for the price ...went 1 mile offshore in the Gulf of Mexico @ Venice beach hunting sharks teeth ... it actually pulled me AND another diver out and back. I would highly reccommend this UDV.(underH2O dive vehicle !! Diver Dave Austin

The Sea Doo seascooter is well constructed, comparable to some i have used that are a lot more expensive. I use it in my commercial diving for hull inspections. It has greatly increased my below surface time as i dont expend as much energy kicking. I am very pleased with it in its design and construction, as well as price. Another fine product by SeaDoo

You cant beat it for the money. It moves you around at a good speed without ripping your mask off and gets two good dives off a single battery charge.

This scooter live up to and beyond my expections. the only flaw i can find is it is heavy! but the pros deffenitly out weigh the weight.

I have owned several other scooters and for the money this one is the best. It towed multiple divers with easy and handles better than the $2000 models.
