Rating: Aqua Lung. Mariner Mesh Duffle Bag Review - Scuba Gear Reviews
Reviewer: Humberto V.
this is a great bag. the mesh is very strong and cannot be easily tornthe bottom is reinforced, which is important when traveling because of the wear and tear of airport luggage conveyor belts. the zipper is very sturdy. i have a medium, which is perfect for me and it can accommodate a whole set of scuba gear plus a two piece 3 mm wet suit, dive light, dive computer and beanie hood. also, it weighs less than 30 lbs with all of that equipment in it. i just dunk the entire bag in a fresh water rinse barrel after each day of diving and then let it drain out. how easy is that? if you do not want others to be able to see inside your bag while traveling, use a plastic trash bag to cover the mesh holes from the inside. disadvantage- it has no rollers, but this reduces weight and bulk.

Questions and Answers for Aqua Lung. Mariner Mesh Duffle Bag:

  • Becky:

Could this bag be checked on an airplane without being damaged? If not, can you suggest a bag to use for scuba gear? fins, mask & snorkel. Thank you

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Becky, yes you could use this bag as a checked bag. Since this is a mesh bag people would be able to see inside the bag if you are ok with that. If you are looking for a different bag that you can''t see in and serve the same purpose then take a look at this bag: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-75/018269/Pinnacle-Pacific-Duffle---Regulator-Bag.html.
