I bought this item because I have a computer console and wanted to be able to easily detach my computer for data recording and maintenance. The Aeris quick disconnect is easier to use than having to disconnect the hose from the first stage every time but having to tighten and loosen the quick disconnect takes considerable more time and effort than your typical quick disconnect like on a BC. I would love to see them use the male and female snap quick connector instead but the current set up does serve its purpose.

Having four regulators this fitting makes it quite economical and easy to move a consul from one regulator to another, for transport, and for storage.

Rating: Quick and Easy

The Aeris high pressure quick disconnect makes it very easy to remove a pressure gauge or computor console from the first stage regulater. The part that disconnects from the high pressure source however, has a long male pin and this could get damaged by draging on rough surfaces or banging against hard objects such as cylinders. Its a good product and does the job but a little pricy.

Product came with no instructions or paperwork, so I wasnt sure if both parts of the quick disconnect had one way valves. It was convenient to pull my computer quickly from my dive gear since the dive shop was setting up and tearning down my gear. Keep an eye on the O rings, they smash and break the seal easily, and make sure the pin is pushed in all the way before screwing the quick disconnect back on. This piece of equipment is touchier than I was hoping.

The quick disconnect is up on the valve and leaves a very fragile looking pin sticking up and out when the unit is disconnected. I thought it would disconnect down by the gauges so I could tuck them into a gauge protector.

Questions and Answers for Oceanic High Pressure Hose Quick Disconnect...:

  • Michelle:

Hi Does this product have two o-rings, or just one on the base connection to the first stage? Thanks

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Just one o-ring in the connector on the 1st stage side.

  • Mike:

Ive read the reviews on this product, and the small tube in the female end appears to be quite fragile and susceptible to bending. Is there a protective cap available, that can be screwed on the end when not connected? If not what is the thread size, so I could come up with one on my own? Thank you Mike D Wimmer

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Mike, You would have to contact Aeris for the thread size. It looks like maybe a piece of poly tubing could work as a cover though. http://www.diveaeris.com/about/contact-us/

  • AK:

I recently bought an aeris A300AI dive computer. I expected it to come with Quick Disconnect hose. But what I have got is a standard hose. I am assuming this accessory will work in converting my standard hose to Quick Disconnect. Will this work for my computer. And will it void the warranty if I use this product? Regards

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

This quick disconnect will work perfectly with that computer (or any other computer or console) and will not effect the warranty. Be aware this QD is designed to be placed between the 1st stage and the hose, as opposed to the hose and the computer.

High Pressure Hose Quick Disconnect attaches to the regulator's high pressure port.

Simple to use, the Quick Disconnect (or "QD") needs no tools to attach or detach.

High-quality brass, plated with chrome, can survive and thrive in salt water conditions, even over great lengths of time.

Compatible with Nitrox up to 40%.
