You may be better served with these questions to contact our instructors at 800-34SCUBA or email@example.com. For the shorty suit, with kids the height and weight are important. The do not stretch a great deal and aren't ideal for playing OUT of the water as they are made of neoprene which is a foam rubber materal. They are made to keep us warm, so they may find them too hot to wear. In the pool or in water, they'll be ideal as they also float, which will help alleviate any fears there, as well.
Ive had trouble finding a kids shorty suit that is long enough in the torso for my (tall) 8-year-old. She wears a kids 7-8 one piece bathing suit, but size 8 or even 10 in the StingRay core warmer we used last year are way too short. Would the large be too short for her? Is there another kind we should try? The cutout in the neck and zipper front are essential - she cant stand the styles that have a mock turtleneck.
Hello Kirsten, take a look at this suit: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-258/056354/Deep-See-2mm-Kids-Shorty-Wetsuit.html#tabdesc.
Contains a zipper in the front, and can be worn as a seperate garment or beneath a suit.
