Rating: Great Battery but....
Reviewer: Michael Brisco, Wednesday, May 02, 2007 - View all my reviews
I just got my rechargeable battery, works great! But there is a downside, the high output battery that comes with it was broken right out of the box! When I called customer service they said I couldnt just send the bulb back, I had to send the rechargeable battery back too since it was all one package! I think thats CRAP, since sending back the whole package would keep me out of night dives for at least 3 weeks, if not more. I think customer service should ask for the bulb back, thats it! It costs more to send the whole package, and I can still dive with the light if they let me keep the battery and narrow beam head lamp for the D8. Use common-sense you guys! Other than that rant, Im happy with everything else. Best Regards Fellow Divers, Michael J. Brisco

Rating: D8 Rechargeable Kit
Reviewer: christopher krause, Sunday, September 24, 2006 - View all my reviews
A very good buy for someone concerned with thowing batteries out regularly. I bought two D8s. One from a local shop that did not have the rechargeable pack and one from scuba.com that did. Both lights provide virtually the same output while diving, which I was surprised about based on the rechargeable product description. That said, Ive replaced the 8 D cell batteries on the light from the local dive shop twice and am considering purchasing another rechargable pack to save money. If youre considering the recharge kit for saving money in the long haul or environmental purposes, go for it. If youre looking for output brightness, save your money up and buy a light cannon instead. Christopher-Madison, WI

The rechargable kit and the higher output bulb are a must have for this light. It is incredible the extra light it achieves, and the rechageability is excellent. I cannot say enough positive things about this product.

I dont know why anyone would buy a dive light without a recharge kit. Not only does it save you money on batteries, but the higher watt bulbs will double your visibility.

This is a definite must! Constantly replacing batteries is outrageous, and having the 30W Xenon lamp thrown in is a wonderfull bonus.
