Reasonalby priced, works well

By ROBYN P.

I like to swim laps and the pool water (although indoors) is always cold. I use this for the first 10 minutes, after which I warm up. (I sit in a hot tub with it on before getting in the pool). Works great. I no longer cringe at the thought of getting in the pool.

Very Pleased

Snorkeling in Galapagos Islands. Good protection from cooler water temperatures and sun.

Whatever your water activates including layering is the key to warmth. NeoSport recognizes this need and fulfills the requirement with its XSPAN line of products. The exclusive XSPAN material is ultra-soft and comfortable to wear, that's why NeoSports uses 100% 1.5mm XSPAN with 250% 4-way super-stretch foam nylon 2 neoprene rubber in the construction of this great short sleeve shirt. When worn under an exposure suit it will increase heat retention by slowing down water exchange and adding an additional thermal barrier layer.

The XSPAN Short Sleeve Shirt can also be used as a standalone water sports garment when minimal thermal protection is required or protection from sun and critters are an issue. Either way the XSPAN shirt will do the job and more. When worn under an exposure suit the flat-lock stitched seams create a smooth interior and exterior for added comfort and durability. The anatomical cut fit with extended shirt tail means maximum coverage and additional layering for warmth.

All shirts feature a no zipper design. This feature and the flat-lock stitched seams mean when worn under an exposure suit you won't look like the B&O Railroad runs up and down your arms, chest or back at the end of your water activities. The NeoSports Short Sleeve Shirts are available in multiple sizes, are black in color and has a tear away size tag for easy ID.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Shopper  which portions of the shirt are 1.5 mm neoprene?
ALEX B  The top was the same shoulders to waist and arms. I wasn't looking for warmth just a jellyfish barrier!
DAVID M  All of it. I wear it just with the swim suit most of the time.
RYAN H  This whole thing is the 1.5mm rash guard
MARK H  All of it except for the collar/neck band area, which is thinner neoprene - maybe 1 mm around the neck..
Shopper  I don't see any shorty pants similar to this shirt. Are there any?
Mario C  Thank you for your question and answers. We have it from the same manufacturer on the link below: https://www.leisurepro.com/p-nspps/neosport-xspan-15-mm-unisex-shorts and neoprene shorts from other manufacturer on the link below: https://www.leisurepro.com/l/?searchinfo=shorts
Mike C  I scuba dive in this shirt and these shorts. https://www.leisurepro.com/p-nspps/neosport-xspan-15-mm-unisex-shorts They are great! I usually have to replace them every few years but well worth it. I don't like diving in a full wet suit.
DANIEL L  Ya they Mack matching Neosport shorts. Which i have 4 pairs. Love them.
TOM B  Yes there are. Same type and what I dove with in Socorro. Like shorts
KENNETH W  Would this neck interfere with the pullover bib and hood from a Hollis Neotek?
Mario C  Thank you for your question and answers. The pullover bib from the suit will sit on top of the rash guard, and that is not a bad thing, it is just like layering up wetsuits. I would first order the suit, make sure i have comfortable room for a another layer underneath and order accordingly to my needs. Hope it helps. Dive dive dive!!
CHRISTOPHER K  The neck is pretty tight but i do have a big neck. This is really light weight. I usually dive in the Caribbean and its just right for that cold at the end of a dive. Wouldn't recommend a hood and bib.
KENNETH W  Thanks. Why would you not recommend a bib and hood?
ROBERT R  The Neosport 1.5 mm water shirt would NOT interfere with a Hollis Neotek attached hood, the Bare Velocity, the Aqualung Solafx, or any other similar semidry suit with attached hood unless the semi-drysuit with attached hood is way too small for you. These semidry suit products are very flexible.
KENNETH W  Thanks, Robert. Much appreciated.
Shopper  how warm was it ?
GERALD H  Used this SS shirt while diving in Key Largo. The surface water temp was 83 but we dove the USCG ship Duane and the temp at 105 feet was a bit cooler. The shirt kept me warm at that depth. It is a well made shirt.
PAT R  That i s all i use down in the cayman island's the water is between 76 and 86 , i dont need anything else and stay warm all the time
BARRY B  Excellent product here! I wore it under my 3mm shorty while diving in palau and Truk and I ended up being overly warm, so I used it without the shorty on some dives: it was was perfect. It looks good, too. You'll be very happy with it.....
THOMAS S  I bought the shirt for snorkeling in Hawaii. The water temp was in the low to mid 70's. For this use, it worked well. It had a snug fit preventing a lot of cold water from constantly washing through the shirt. It also made a good wind breaker when I got out of the water.
JOHN K  I use it for snorkelling in summer in Northern Wisconsin waters. It keeps the chill off. I used it in March in the Caribbean, too, for the same purpose. Like it because it's faster to put on/off than a shorty. Also, I wear it under my wetsuit when I want extra warmth. The fact that it does not have any zippers means it's more of a tortuous path for the water to go through to get to my skin. And , this way, I don't have to have multiple thickness wetsuits. mine is a 3/5 wetsuit. But wearing this shirt adds another 1.5mm to the torso. Quite noticeable improvement for that.
STEFANO G  I use it the same way. do not feel a big difference compared to bare skin. But may keep me in the water a llttle longer. I also use it as an additional layer under a steamer jumpsuit to block water seepage. This though takes a long time to dry.
02703 0  It was worn under a 7mm full body wetsuit as an extra layer for warmth in cold New England water. Very nice.
DAVID T  Combined with the matching shorts it was more than adequate in Cayman and Mexico, both with 80-82 degree water. Very comfortable and easy to put on and take off.
ARTHUR C  Warmer than a rash guard but if you easily get cold it won't provide a lot of heat.
STEVE L  I have used it with fleece over it in cool weather and found it very comfortable. I have not used it yet for the colder weather. It is a nice addition to my cool to cold wardrobe for kayaking. Hope this helps. Steve
NANCY L  I wore this short sleeve shirt with a snorkel vest for added warmth. The shirt alone is great coverage but I add a vest to it because I go on long snorkels and get cold.
Curt C  Thanks Maggie. can this be machine washed or hand wash only?
MARK H  Not recommended to machine wash - best is to hand-wash in the sink, in warm water (not hot) using a couple of cap-fulls of dish detergent., then rinse and air-dry. Do not use laundry soap, as it will dry out and stiffen the neoprene.
YAN G  Hand wash only.
