My husband bought this product for when he goes personal watercraft riding. He says the long sleeve guard keeps him warm and dry. You would have to buy this product a size or two then what you normal size would be.

Questions and Answers for LavaCore by Oceanic Trilaminate Polytherm Long Sleeve Dive Rash Guard:

  • lisa:

on this product how many sizes above the standard size that persons wears should i go. another review on another rash gard shirt said to go up 2 sizes

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Lisa, when you are sizing this the two most important measurements are going to be your chest/bust and waist measurements. Height is a secondary measurement and weight is the last to take into account.

  • Byrne:

I want some thermal insulation with neutral buoyancy. How does this product compare with the Oceanic Elite Merino Shirt (873,3827) ? Are there other comparable options?

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

It's basically the same thing. Made by the same OEM.

  • Pete:

I ordered this based off the mens size chart but its a bit tight around the armpits. Should I go a size up?

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Without seeing it, that is difficult to say. But going up sizes would help with that.

  • Jim:

I cant quite get the thickness in my mind. 15-17 oz? Is that about 1 mil?

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Jim, you are looking at around 2mm in thickness.
