Rating: Good rash guard for the price

good quality rash guard shirt works by itself or under a wetsuit. usually wear a large, but due to other reviews, bought a Xlarge. Fits perfect (snug like this kind of shirt should fit), so these do run small!

This rash guard is great. I used it in Ft Lauderdale when the water temp. was 76 degrees and it made nice and comfortable for a long swim. I ordered a 2X and it is a little snug. Make sure you order 2 sizes above your normal size.

I caught this one on sale and couldnt be happier. Definitely a quality made product. You can tell as soon as you open it from the box. Material and workmanship worth a premium price if you want a shirt like this. I have used other, discount shirts but there is no comparison. Worth the extra buck for quality

What you wear under your wetsuit or drysuit does make a difference. I have the Ocean Quest jumpsuit so I know the fit and quality. As divers, we are rarely gentle when donning our gear on a dive boat and our undergarments are secondary to our wetsuit or drysuit. Ocean Quest takes the insults in stride. I dont always need the jumpsuit so I was happy to get the short sleeve rash guard and it didnt disappoint. Good quality. Nice fit. I did order a size larger than usual for this base layer to make sure it was comfortable all day. Its a heavier fabric than my usual base layers with good seams. The high quality logo adds style! Ya gotta wear bangin tees when ya dive! On warm weather dives my Ocean Quest stands out of the cotton Ts crowd early in the day and through surface intervals. I have several Ts as base layers and I am pleased to add Ocean Quest to the collection. Wear it with confidence.

Rating: Good for getting rashes away from body.
Reviewer: Derek H.
I teach at a Community swimming pool and it is very useful in guarding off all germs that kids and adults go into for lessons. Only one problem though. Every time I get out of the pool to dry off, the water is still absorbed on the shirt. Hopefully for the future, they can make a material good enough to wick off the excess water carried on top of the shirt.

Rating: Great for warm water diving
Reviewer: Ken Reinstadler
We purchased the Ocean Quest rash guard shirts for use in Bonaire. Our initial thoughts were to wear them to/from the dive sites and UNDER our dive skins for a little extra warmth. However, when we arrived the temp at 80 feet was 85-88 degrees! We ended up just wearing the rash shirts under our BCDs and they worked great! I do suggest you order a size above (maybe two sizes) if you do not like super skin tight fitting shirts. I normally wear a Lg. shirt, and I ended up getting a 2XL which fit snug but nice. Good product.

Rating: Extra protection in warm water
Reviewer: Ken R.  -  View all my reviews
This rash guard adds that little extra warmth under your dive skin when in warm water. I have purchased one for both my wife an. It helps holding off the chills, by adding a layer on your core. It is well constructed. We bought it for a summer trip to Bonaire.

Questions and Answers for Ocean Quest 6oz Premium Lycra Short Sleeve Rash Guard:

  • Russell:

Is this rash guard neutral bouyant when wet?

Clarke  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Russell, Thank you for your inquiry! The Ocean Quest 6oz Premium Lycra Short Sleeve Rash Guard has no buoyancy as it is a fabric that absorbs the water when it becomes wet. The only effect it will have on you is when you come out of the water, as it will be heavier when it is wet as apposed to when it is dry. http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-60/110928/Ocean-Quest-6oz-Premium-Lycra-Short-Sleeve-Rash-Guard.html If you have other questions, need help or would like to place an order, please contact one of our Instructors at SCUBA.com by calling 800-247-2822 <> 949-221-9300 or e-mail us at: info@scuba.com

Hello Steven, when you are sizing this item the 2 most important measurements are your chest/waist. Then it would be height and weight is last.

  • Lisa:

what do most divers prefer long sleeved or short sleeved rash guards? my husband & son are diving in july off of the florida keys, and i am trying to decide what would be best for them. thanks!

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Long sleeve is more protection from the sun or anything in the water that you might brush up against.

  • Nevada:

Hey All! I just got my new Short Sleeve Rash Guard in today. I was just wondering how I would go about washing it. It didnt come with instructions on what to do or settings to use. I just would like to ask before I throw it in and mess it all up. Thanks!

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hand rinse in a tub and hang to dry out of the sun.
