Intova Super Nova is Aptly Named. Great Light!
You know your light is bright when your buddy keeps switching his light off and following you.
After 20 years of diving I definitely take underwater lighting seriously. I also do not take spending hundreds of dollars on a flashlight lightly. I did copious (My wife says obsessive) research and chose the Intova Super Nova as the best balance of price, reliability, ease of use, rechargeability, burn time, output and construction.
Plus I did a bunch of night dives in Bonaire with a certain doctor from Clearwater, Florida who had one and was kind enough to let me play with it. Very cool and bright as, well, a super nova. Also special mention to my great dive buddy Ken who graced me with a Scuba.com gift certificate...the greatest gift a diver could ever get, short of a free liveaboard trip.
This baby is bright, light, bright, solid and bright. Did I mention bright? I almost feel bad for the fish as a I fry their retinas. If the guts of the Super Nova are as well constructed as its aluminum exoskeleton then I will be using it to light up the briny deep for a long time. Comes with all the accessories you need, charger and nifty case to keep it all together. The LED technology assures you wont travel half way around the world and find you have a broken bulb.
I am also a parsimonious guy by nature and Scuba.com had the best price by far. The item was backordered and they quickly informed me of the anticipated ship date. Kudos to Intova on the Super Nova and to Scuba.com for their award winning customer service and pricing.
