Rating:  Dependable... if you keep it with fresh batteries

After having two switch related failures (1 flooded + 1 broken) with other brands of lights, the magnetic switch on this light was the feature that most attracted me. This means that the switch doesnt actually touch the inside watertight compartment, which should make it pretty immune to switch failures.
On the downside, brightness of this light goes down rather quickly when compared to other lights using 4 C batteries.

I bought this light to replace my Pelican Stealth light, which is a 4-AA light and throws a narrow bright beam. This light has a wider beam, and although not the brightest light (its only a 4C) it is more than adequate for night diving. It is small and compact and comfortable to hold. I mounted it to a digital camera set-up and used it as both my dive light and camera spotlight.
