If you have the Sealife DC1200 Elite setup with the Pro flash then you must get this weight. If you dont your camera system will FLOAT and take you up with it. When using the weight the system becomes just slightly negative bouyant which means it will very slowly sink. Get a lanyard and your all set.

You obviously need this if youre using an external flash so you dont have to keep looking above you to find your camera...really tho a 1lb tank weight clipper aroung the base plate would do the same if you happen to already have one.

Rating: Very helpful if you have a flash attached
Reviewer: Scott Michael, Monday, February 23, 2009 - View all my reviews
I love my DC800, but with an external flash attached, the extra airspace in the flash-head makes it wants to float to the surface. Besides being annoying when you are trying to stay neutral to take a picture, its one more irritation at the end of a dive when your tank is empty and youre trying to hold at 15" for your safety stop.
One caveat, you must buy the optional Extra Long Attachment Knob, as the regular knob isnt long enough to attach the weight to the camera.

Rating: Sealife camera boyancy weight
Reviewer: richard w. klusmann, Tuesday, February 17, 2009
Does a great job of making the Sealife camera neutral boyant. I had to struggle with the camera before getting this weight to dive against the boyancy of the camera. Since I added this to my camera, this is no longer an issue. It feels a little heavy out of the water but in the water its no problem.

Rating: SEALIFE BUOYANCY WEIGHT

I found that my camera was a bit buoyant, but with the added weight it made it much more user friendly when in the water. I found the using the weight under the camera mount was much better than in the strobe. In the strobe it was to top heavy, so purchase the extra long attachment knob.

I put it on the mount and it helps allot.
With out it the camera is buoyant and is always floating above me. With the weight it stays neutral and I don’t have to search above me every time I want the camera.

highly recommend. you will also want to get the extra long attachment knob-you will find that the weight is best when attached to camera, not the light.

I tried to not use the weights at first, but what a difference. The camera no longer is in the way and much easier to hold steady. Great buy!
