Rating: Sealife DC1400 14 Megapixel Underwater Camera Pro Duo Kit with L.E.D. Video Light and Digital Pro Flash
Reviewer: Lance Burton
Camera performs as expected. Housing that camera goes into is rugged with robust gaskets. Flash/video light are plenty bright. Photos and video/audio are also acceptable with decent clarity with minimal wash out. Flash and video light will stay energized (i.e., dont go into a "sleep") so will burn up the batteries if you forget to shut off between dives. When assembled, the video stalk/handgrip restricts ability to access camera shutter button easily. If using for video, make sure you wait for the little hour glass symbol to disappear if you are going to turn off camera after shooting your video else you will probably loose the video. Would purchase again.

Rating: Pretty nice camera
Reviewer: Nathan McCord
I bought this set up as an alternative to getting an SLR and housing, and lights, as all that stuff that adds up very quickly, and it worked out pretty well. The camera itself is very simple and easy to use. The housing is also VERY simple and easy to use. This was really nice when I was going between normal photos and macro. The white balance didnt always seem to come out the way I hoped though. Even when switching the camera between the camera alone and with flash (in the easy setup menu), I didnt see much difference and the photos were a little too blue. The focusing was usually pretty good, although it took some time to figure out how far to push the button to focus before it took a photo. As far as battery life, the camera lasted 3 and a half dives on one day of diving. The video was pretty good too. I was disappointed that I couldnt change the zoom while it was recording, and the mic picked up everything so lots of breathing and bubble noise. The video light worked out decently well. It didnt really have much effect on wide shots until I was deep, like around 90ft or so. Im sure at night it would have been much more useful. I also loved having it as a regular dive light. I found more life living in holes and caves than anyone else on the dives, because I had the light right on my camera. The fresh batteries I put in at the beginning of my trip lasted into my 8th dive when they finally died, and I had the light on most of the time during the dives. Im back and forth on the flash. I did end up with a good amount of photos where it helped a lot, but I also ended up with a lot of photos that were washed out from too much flash. I would highly recommend the diffuser for the flash, I know it would have helped a lot of my photos. For subjects 3-6 feet away it worked pretty well, up close though it over powered the subject and washed out the photo. Also the arm is a little short and doesnt have quite the flexibility I would have liked to get certain shots. Also maybe having the balance of two flashes would have been better in certain situations. I learned my lesson the 2nd day of diving when the batteries died during my 2nd dive of the day, 4th dive of the trip. They should be replaced after every 2 dives at least. The flash was also more positively buoyant than anything else which made it interesting to work with the system at times. For the money I am very satisfied with the camera. I didnt expect to get SLR quality photos, but I still came out of a 8 dive trip with a lot of impressive shots.

Rating: Sealife DC1400 14 Megapixel Underwater Camera Pro Duo Kit
Reviewer: Yedidyah L.
The camera arrived promptly and from my initial testing above water seems to be all that it claims. I will be testing it out more extensively in the Red Sea within the next month and will get back. The flash arrived with a small blemish on the front lens, but I imagine that after using for a while it will accumulate additional scratches so that it wont be noticeable :). One odd thing about the package is that while it came with a tether for the for the ring that fits on the camera for the adapter, there is no tether for the lens cap. I am hoping that I can get one from SeaLife directly.

The unit itself seem to be fairy easy to use. I am disapointed in the case it came in. The zipper has already broke, on both sides. Michael
