Does this camera need the housing or is it fine by itself? Also how long will it take for me to receive the camera if I buy it now? I leave for a dive trip next week Friday.

Is this camera appropriate for scuba diving? I am concerned about the mounts. Can it mount on a chest or head strap?

Hello Julie, if you order the surf unit it comes with only the surf mounts. If you want to mount it to your head you would need to order the outdoor edition web link: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-535/168214/Gopro-HERO-2-Outdoor-Edition-High-Definition-Video-and-Underwater-Camera.html. That is the one you can mount to your head. Right now if you wanted to mount it to your chest you would have to make a custom harness yourself.
