Of all the masks I have used in the last year, the Alpha 2 is hands down one of the most comfortable and versatile masks out there. This low-volume maks is constructed out of the highest grade silicone that molds to the contours of just about everyones face that gets near it. This means a great fit that feels good and a seal that doesnt leak! Being a long-time mustache wearer, I have run the gambit of novelties and techniques to keep water out of my masks from silicone grease to vaseline to surfboard wax. None of them are as effective as they are messy. The purge valve under the nose pocket is hidden from a divers fingers, so its easy to equalize, but it is large enough to clear water very quickly. An added bonus to this mask is the ability to put prescription lenses into it. This is truly one of the best ways to clearly see the underwater world with minimum hassle and maximum DIVE.

Mask worked fine (7 dives so far this mask), fits and seals well. Purge works well. Bought with bifocal lense. It is dificult but possible to view guages through the bifocal lense. The bifocal lense could be slightly elevated for better viewing. It is my first bifocal mask, it might not get any better with a different mask. Absolutely no fogging without using any cleaner or anti fogger, I only used spit. Ive been diving for 15 years and prefer larger mask. I also have a mustach. Make sure you understand how to order your lense. I normally have a +250 lense with an additional +200 tri focal. The bifocal makes it possible to read the guages, but I wish I had something for normal straight out viewing as well. It may be worth the money to get the focal in a whole lense and then add the bifocal later???

This mask fits great and rarely leaks from the sides as some of my other masks have. The lenses work great: I can see clearly at distances! Now I can make the most out of 30 visibility. Ive since been told that it wasnt wise to buy a mask with a purge for diving, but I havent had any problems with it, although its more likely to clear from the side than the purge. I though I might get rid of that little bit of water at the bottom that gets in your eyes if you turn upside down. It does seem to do that, but Im not sure if its the purge thats clearing. If it gives me any trouble, Ill just buy another Alpha 2 without a purge and switch my lens.

as a new diver, i purchased the h2o alpha 2 mask as part of a package. initially, i was a little afraid that theyd be too smal for my face (im decidedly not 60lbs), but after having dove 7 times with them, i have decided that they do hold up pretty well. if theres anything that i could be said not to like about the mask is that the silicon under the nose piece seems a bit short on every dive, ive had a wet nosebut its nothing that really bothered me. then again, considering that i was diving in the tropical waters of hawaii, im not so sure how pleased ill be with a wet nose diving in colder waters.

i purchased the h2o alpha 2 purge mask along with my precription to replace the normal lens. the mask was delivered in record time and allows me to see much clearer than the old style s i had in my scuba pro mask. plus, the reason i prefer the purge masks is that while im descending, i can equalize simply by blowing gently through my nose. the purge valve allows me to clear while at the same time equalizing the pressure inside the airspace of the mask. i love this product!!!

Great mask, but alittle narrow for my 35 year old, normal shaped, manly head. I got the perscription lenses and the are great too. I used it 7 straight days diving and snorkeling in the keys. I do have an issue with the purge valve placement. It works great, but rubbed the skin raw on the bottom of my nose... I would not recommend the purge option. Unless you have a smallerish nose.

The H2O Alpha 2 Purge Mask is an OK mask for a fair price. It is not a great mask. Its perfect for casual snorkelers. Its not as good as I wanted for scuba diving. The purge works OK, but its not protected as the better purge masks are and Im always needing to purge it. For some reason it doesnt seal as well as my other masks. Its now my back-up mask when I dive.

Definitely has its pros and cons. With a traditional snorkel/dive mask, I almost never had to worry about "equalizing" it. With this mask it seems I have to equalize it a lot. Because I bought it online and couldnt try it on in the store, its also a little big on my face and it doesnt have a super great seal. Again, though, its probably just because I couldnt try it on before-hand.

Bu unfortunately, the bubbles go right in front of your eyes. A good mask fit my smaller face well and purge valve is still going strong, this is a backup mask for me, I prefered the oceanic mask with the purge, that one has a channel that the bubbles go to the sides so you can see when clearing your mask. I would reccoment this mask as a cheaper alternative.

I bought this mask because I have a smaller face and have a hard time finding a good, comfortable fit. Used it for the first time last weekend - very comfortable, great fit, and virtually an unobstructed view. Easy to clear without using the purge valve, so unless you are addicted to your purge you probably dont need to spend the extra money for it.

Ive tried on and used about 10 different small face masks. The H2O Alpha 2 Purge Mask is the best by far. It worked so good that I never had to use the purge, but just to make sure it worked well I filled the entire mask with water and was able to completely purge it in one breath. My face has been hard to fit until now. I love my H2O Alpha Mask...

initially i was going to purchase another mask but had to opt for a similiar mask around the same price. i chose the h2o alpha. not one of water or any discomfort at all.i also added some 500psi mask defog and it worked great!
i found it to be very comfortable and would recommend it to anyone looking for a mask in this price range.

let me sum this up easily. Im buying all my scuba gear from scuba.com. Excellant quality for a great price. You cant gp wrong with scuba.com. The mask and oceanatic super dry snorkel work as a great combination and you have to try them to believe it. Everything is priced right for excellant quality equipmeny.

I bought two of these, one for myself and one for my wife. Be both found them very comfortable. We had the lenses changed by scuba.com to match our normal glasses prescription, and the clarity was fantastic. The purged worked well, and sealed well too despite my usual problems from having a mustache.

Great purge mask, for a small face. I had difficulty finding a mask for a small face, they all leaked. This one fits nicely, doesnt fog, and purges easily because of the soft nose pocket. I was skeptical of the quality when ordering this mask because it was inexpensive but was pleasantly surprised.

Did the mask work much better than the US Diver mask it replaced? No. Did it have seepage due to beard? Yes. So did the US Diver mask. Is it worth the money? Yes. The mask it replaced was 6 years old and time to be replaced. Would I recommend it? Yes. I assume there is a better mask on the market.

I bought this mask right before a dive trip to the Bahamas. For me, it delivered on all of its promises. Some reviews talked about the difficulty in clearing but I did not have that problem. I have been diving for over 10 years and I would recommend this mask to beginners and veterans alike.

Just took new alpha 2 down into Utahs Homestead Crater. Felt some water while snorkling, but remained very dry under the water. Did feel a bit close on the face at times, and I think that I might eventually like to try a multi-panel, but this mask did well, and Im not sorry I purchased it.

This mask from H2O has performed quite well. With my chubby cheeks I tend to get a little water seeping in just below the eyes every time I smile. This mask, with its built-in purge allows smooth and easy clearing. So, if you cant keep a straight face, even under water, try this one out.

This was the 3rd and 4th h2o Alpha 2 purge mask I have purchased. I like mine so well I had to buy each of my daughters one. I, along with my youngest daughter, have very thin faces along with small upper lips and this mask works well for us as well as my husband and older daughter.

Good basic mask. The purge valve takes some getting used to though- it leaks on the surface so is not good when snorkeling and leaks at depth unless you remember to equalise frequently.. So think carefully about a continually cold wet nose is worth benefit of easier mask clearing!

This mask is fantastic!!! Not only is it affordable, but is also a great fit and has that nifty little purge. If water ever gets in the mask, all I need to do is blow out my nose and all the water is released through the purge. Its the best!

I found this mask easy to use after breaking it in. When it is new the purge valve is stiff and just exhaling through your nose dosent work. You have to work on the valve for some time, blowing through it with your mouth to loosen it up.

The purge valve felt as if it would be irritating at first. Once I was in the water, I never noticed it. Having a purge valve is a treat. This mask makes a good seal, is comfortable to wear and easy to clear. An excellent buy.

Very good mask especially with the correction on the lenses to help me see. Leaked a little bit in the pool when I first tried it out but when I went into the ocean it leaked even less and held up great.
