Rating: Pro-V8 L.E.D. Video Light Single Video Light Package
Reviewer: Miyuki S.  -  View all my reviews
The Pro-V8 video light is working great after a handful of dives attached atop the Handle to a Compact Tray and Housing for a Panasonic HM-TA1. The tray, handle and light are all solid so far. I do suggest using wide pliers to attach the 1st pop bead of the light to the top of the handle, finger tightening will not suffice. Surprisingly good quality footage for such an inexpensive underwater 1080p set up. The light is bright and battery power is lasting, perhaps the beam could have a slightly more flooded angel to it. The best deal I could find online.

he Vega packs a lot of power into a compact and travel-friendly package. Switch quickly between full, half and quarter powers for video, focusing, macro photography, or to use as a backup dive light. Power level is controlled by a large, easy to turn dial on the rear of the light. A premium, high-capacity built-in rechargeable battery provides up to 3 hours run time on a single charge.

A light's power can be lost quickly when spread too thin with internal reflectors. The Vega's smooth, 65° beam is designed to give you full advantage of the light's output when shooting macro and portrait work. When shooting wide angle, add the optional Low Loss Diffuser for a beautiful, 100° angle of coverage and virtually no output loss thanks to a special, patented material.

A ring of 6 LED indicators on the back of the light give you power level (blue LEDs) and remaining battery information (red LEDs) at a glance. The rear LEDs are bright enough to see during a day dive yet unobtrusive when diving at night. The Vega fits as well in your hand as it does on your camera system and doubles for use as a night diving light in medium or low settings.

Each Vega is completely factory sealed and water pressure tested for care-free maintenance. The clever rear dial over-rotates to a secondary 'off' position with lock to prevent the light from accidentally turning on when not in use. Two gold-plated, independently waterproofed charger ports are deliberately hidden when the switch is in the safety lock position to eliminate the possibility of inadvertently shorting the light during travel.
