Rating: Rock Solid Guages

I normally dive with two computers (1 hose less and 1 w/ hose) I have the hose connected as a back up. My backups electronics was damaged by the airlines on last trip so I opted to get this console to replace my broken computer. I forgot how nice it is to have dependable analog gauges. Im ruff on my gear by the shear amount of diving I do. I can tell you this console is bulletproof. If Timex didnt already coin the phrase "It takes a licking and keeps on ticking" it would fit perfect. Small for 3 gauges and really like the compass and depth guage on the same side for navigation. Keeps you from having to rotate all the time like others Ive had in the past. If you need a tough and compact console, you cant go wrong with this one! Dive safe and keep on blowing bubbles!

Rating: Good, but not great

I had thought this would be a good backup to my wireless pressure gauge, and I also needed a compass for a certification course. The price was excellent, but I could have been happier with the console. The pressure gauge was somewhat difficult for my 50-yr-old eyes to easily read, the compass had a large gap between numbering on the dial and the red line, and the depth gauge read 5 ft too deep (as compared with my dive computer and three other divers gauges). However my spouse does not trust her wireless gauge, and she is happy to have this instead.

Oceanic 3 gauges is my back up in just in case of any malfunction dive computers. Oceanic 3 gauges are very simple to read and clear with max depth indicator, air pressure and compass. Diving is serious sport which cannot go without Oceanic 3 gauges!

The good think about this console is you can easily view the compass without losing track of the depth gauge. Flip it over to see your remaining air and depth. Everythings well protected and reasonably compact.

Will this gauge work with nitrox?

The MaxDepth gauge is still one of the most dependable instruments around for divers who are just starting out or don't feel they need the advanced features of a Personal Dive Computer just yet. But don't worry, Oceanic's modular gauge design allows you to easily swap out the depth gauge module with a PDC as your needs change and your experience grows.

Non-linear depth scale is easier to read in shallow depths, and makes it much easier to maintain safety stop depths
OceanGlo® luminescent gauge face absorbs light and glows approximately 7 times faster and longer than conventional glow-in-the-dark materials
200' / 60m maximum depth reading
Automatic maximum depth indicator
