About Hollis Crotch Strap with Scooter Ring

Do you find your cylinder system riding-up and banging into the back of your head? This can be annoying and possible dangerous. Yet, there is an easy fix for this problem. Adding a crotch strap to your back plate and harness set-up can not only eliminate the problem, but give you increased stability when diving. The Hollis Crotch Strap is easy to install on your back pack or back plate assembly. Crotch strap has slide release buckles and a side-release squeeze-style quick-release buckle made from impact resistant plastic for rigging.

An added-bonus the completely adjustable strap comes equipped with a steel scooter ring for use with diver propulsion vehicles (DPVs). The ring is also a convenient place to temporarily clip-off an item to free your hands, such as a lobster snare or camera. Depending on your needs the Hollis Crotch Strap is available in 3 widths of 1", 1.5" or 2" (2.5, 3.8 or 5 cm) nylon webbing.

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

RYAN N  Will this strap work with an Oceanic Excursion 2 BCD?
MICHAEL H  Hi Ryan, The crotch strap is designed to be laced through a back plate. The front will lace through the waist strap but you will need some way to secure the crotch strap to the back of the Excursion 2 BC. I don't have a diagram of the back of the Excursion 2 so I can't say if there is a way to secure the crotch strap back there.
NEIL J  You need to ask someone who owns an Excursion 2. You need a hard attachment point at the bottom center of the bcd backpack, like a 1" slot. The front will attach marginally to the strap in front of the cumberbund. Not the ideal setup. Obviously, a backplate, harness & wings or sidemount bcd is better for scootering (clipped in). The real question is what are you using the crotch strap for?
RYAN N  to keep my BCD from riding up on me when in the water.
Shopper  What size would I probably need? I am a 5'11 200lbs male
EVGENY Z  The croch strap is one size fit all it is ajustible , the wide is up to personal prefernces 1',1.5" or 2' all of them are strong enough to do the job ! I bought the 1.5" and works good for me !
JULIAN B  All can be adjusted for height, so any will work. The width is the difference and that is just a personal preference. I liked the 1.5 inch one, and I still have it on my Hollis Elite II harness.
