I bought this because my old inflator had worn out. The local dive shop wanted $100 to replace. I dont typically repair my own dive equipment, but I gave it a try. Total time to replace was about 10 minutes and works as good as new.

Its not like I havent known the owner of my local dive shop for 20+ years, and he knows I have sent him lots of referrals over the years. They wanted twice the price, werent sure they could get it, and couldnt commit on a turnaround time for this part. However, they sure had some nice new BCs for $300 and up. I left him standing around with 2-3 of his helpers in an otherwise empty shop. After finding you guys on the internet I had my trusty 10 year old BC up and running like new for $50 in a few days after consulting with the scuba.com dude. I think its a shame the Toledo, OH, locals havent figured out how to treat a customer, if I could find the part so quickly you would think they could have as well. Got your decal on my gear box now, I wont forget who took care of me. The Keys Farmer, www.terrasubaqua.com

Questions and Answers for Sherwood Power Inflator:

  • John:

Does Scuba.com sell rebuild kits or even just the inflator valve assemblies for Sherwood Power Inflator?... or do I need to just buy the whole power inflator every time I have a bad valve assembly?

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello John, you can send it into us for service and we can rebuild it. But we do not sell part for life support. You need to be a trained tech to repair or install kits like this.

  • John:

Darrick, thanks for the reply... and what do you charge (including S&H, & sales tax) if I send you my inflator and you rebuild it? Its only a $40 part...

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello John, it would cost more to service then to buy a replacement.

  • Rock:

Can you confirm the 1" in the description, hose is a 1" outside diameter hose? Thanks Rock

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Yes, it is a standard corrugated hose. There are only 2 common ones in use today, this being the most common of the 2 and is used on about 85% of the bcd's manufactured.

  • George:

I have a Sea Quest BC and need to replace the inflator. What is different about this Sherwood that it will not work on the Sea Quest

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

The Seaquest bcd uses a different diameter corrugated hose than the Sherwood does.

  • ken:

Will this inflator fit on an older scubapro BC?

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

As long as the corrugated hose id is 1".

  • Stuart:

My daughter has a Sherwood Luna BC that came new with a Gemini alternate air source. I am wondering if this will be a direct fit replacement or will I need the hose as well?

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Stuart, that will be a direct fit into your Luna corrugated hose. Also the power inflator hose you currently have will also fit this unit.
