Rating: Perfect Fit for 15 Year Old Oceanic Flex BC
Reviewer: Robert N.
This inflator was a perfect fit for my BC. My Flex BC is 15 years old but is still in good shape. I had to replace the corrugated hose a few years ago because of cracks, but the rest is in great shape. The inflator leaked from the LP inlet (hose from 1st stage) when I tested it for this dive season. I read that the inflators are not designed to be serviced and that Oceanic provides the entire inflator as an annual service item. This was extremely easy to replace. Some advice: Be very careful when you cut off the zip tie that secures the inflator to the corrugated hose. I used small (hobby size) diagonal cutters. If you use a knife, be very careful not to cut the corrugated hose. Also, note how the inflator is positioned and make sure you align it exactly the same when you install the new one.

The Power Inflator is another grest product by Oceanic. It easily attached to the inflator hose. The product was delivered in a very timely fashion.

Rating: Simple and reliable

I chopped an Air 2 off a used Oceanic BC and put this back on. Works like a charm - knew it would, or I would have replaced it with something else in the first place. Oceanic gear is like Big Box Mart - simple, inexpensive and reliable.

Questions and Answers for Oceanic Reliant Power Inflator:

  • Bob:

I have a Oceanic OP5K. Do you know if this will fit on this BCD? If it does not fit, can I return it? Thanks,

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

The Oceanic Reliant Power Inflator will fit any current model Oceanic BCD.

  • Mike:

my bcd has a cord that goes through the hose for a quick air release. Is there a place in this inflator where i can loop through that cord?

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

  • Cheryl:

I have an old visa bcd, will this work? This is the whole assembly that screws on to the bcd?

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Oceanic inflators only work on their BCs. They use a 3/4" corrugated hose. The standard hose is typically 1". The best thing is to take in into a dive store and have them see what you need.

  • Mike:

I need a replacement power inflator for my Oceanic BCD. The corrugated hose on the BCD is 1" outside diameter. The replacement power inflator on your web site states it fits all Oceanic BCDs with a 3/4" corrugated hose but it does not say if this is inside diameter or outside diameter. Please clarify

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

It is the ID. Oceanic and Aeris use a unique corrugated hose size compared to most other manufacturers. Only an Aeris or Oceanic inflator will work properly with their bcds.

  • Volker:

Hello, can I use my Oceanic AirXS inflator hose for the Oceanic Reliant Power Inflator or need I an Adapter?

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

No. The AirXS will have a higher flow hose and fitting. You''ll need a hose to fit the Reliant LPI

  • richard:

I have a Seaquest BCD (a real oltimer 10 years old) no jokes from the peanut gallery, my wife loves this BCD. will the Oceanic Power Inflator be a suitable replacement for the LPI?

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Yes, provided it has the correct diameter to match up with the corrugated hose on the bcd.

  • bruce:

Does this inflator have the plastic exhaust valve fitting that screws into the BCD. If not is the available separately for an Oceanic FX BCD. need complete inflator and attachment fitting.

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Bruce, since that part of the life support system this would be a special order item that would need to be installed by a authorized repair tech. If you would like to order this part please send an e-mail to repair@scuba.com so they can contact you to get this order placed for you.

  • Antonio:

Can I use this power inflator with my US Divers (by Aqualung) Cousteau RDS bdc?

Arthur  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

    No it isn''t compatible.

  • Russ:

I have a Oceanic pro tour bio flex BCD, will this inflator head work with it and the current hose.

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

    Yes, it should fit.

Fits all 3/4 inch corrugated hoses.

Large and easily accessible power inflator button - can be used easily even while wearing gloves.
