Well, What can I say about this mask. Waited for 10 months and finally received one of 2 masks that Ive ordered. The mask is very comfortable with great viewing angle. Make sure to clean it with tooth paste or a mask scub that you can purchase from Scuba.com. Did not leak or fog up. fit my face very well and comfortable thanks to the silicon skirt. Its a little heavy since the frame is made of metal. A superb mask that was worth waiting for. Another great product from Oceanic.

Rating: The Best!!!!

Recently purchased this mask for a trip to Panama. I can honestly say this was worth every cent I paid. The fit was perfect for my face. I thought they were lightweight and less cumbersome than any other mask I have owned. I know they are the "latest and greatest" right now, but do yourself a huge favor and fork over the money for these. You will not be disappointed with their performance. Suggestion.....Use the 500psi mask scrub and defog, works fantastic!!!!!!! Safe diving to all....Cheers

This a great mask, very comfortable, excellence field of view. The strap adjustment seems to loose at first but works great anyway. I recommend this mask.

Mask has a great fit and great field of view. It required little cleaning prior to my first use and had no problems with fogging.

since purchase of pioneeroceanic mask and daily usein oceanfor three months they are still fogging as well as very unclear viewing..daily clean with toothpaste have tried washing liquid and Erina Dive Shop does not assist with answers. The initial film on glass was removed but still difficult to see through.I do not breathe through nose to cause fogging.any suggestions?could the glass be a bad batch at manufacture? HELP please...thanking you in advance.

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

There have been no reports from divers or the manufacturer of anything amiss with the glass lenses on the Oceanic Pioneer masks. Fogging is typically caused by the condensation that forms due to the changes in temperature in and around the mask. You mention it is not clear to see through. Is it possible that the residue from the mask being cleaned has not been completely removed? If all else fails, return the mask to our repair department and they will send it to Oceanic and have it evaluated to be replaced.

Water is more dense than air, which makes objects look blurry. A mask provides an air spae in front of the eyes to eliminate distorted vision.

Prior to using the mask for the first time, thoroughly clean both sides of the lens with a nonabrasive liquid detergent, or toothpaste, to remove any residue, then rinse with fresh water.

To prevent fogging during use, rub a 'no fog' solution, or saliva, on the inner surface of the lense while it is still dry, then rinse with water.

Adjust the strap so that it holds the mask comfortably and firmly in position on your face without being too tight or restrictive.

Place the mask on your face and pull the strap over the top of your head.

To clear water that enters the mask, stand up or come to the surface and lift the bottom of the mask away from your face to allow the water to drain out. While underwater, tilt yourhead back and exhale gently into the mask while pressing the top portion with your fingers. Water will be forced out the bottom edge.

To eliminate mask squeeze caused by the higher pressures that are experienced when diving deeper than a few feet, exhale slowly into the mask through your nose as you dive deeper. To equalize pressure in your ears, pinch your nose closed with your thumb and finger and blow gently while holding your mouth closed.

Care and Maintenance

At the end of each day of use, rinse your mask thoroughly in fresh water and towel dry. Do not allow the clear silicone skirt or strap to come in contact with items that are black rubber. This will cause the clear silicone to become discolored. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or excessive heat.
Ensure that the mask is completely dry before storing. Store in a cool, dry location.
