Questions and Answers for Bare 3mm Elastek Mens Wetsuit:

  • Camille:

Is the seam construction Sealed and Taped? or Glued and blind stitched?

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Camille, these are glued and blind stitched

  • Trever:

Why are there discrepancies between BAREs sizing charts from their official website and Scuba.coms? BARE sizes are 4, 6, 8, 8TALL,etc. sizes are XSmall 5-6, Small7-8, Small tall 7T-8T. My wife decided on a size 6 from the BARE sizing chart. But since Scuba.coms measurements for each "size" does not correspond with BAREs, and since weve had trouble in the past with sizing issues when buying wetsuits, we are now hesitant and confused. Please kindly advise.

Hello Trever, the size chart is something that we get directly from the manufacture. We have contacted the manufacture and they are sending the correct size chart to us. You would need to order a size small if you want the size 6 women.

  • Alejandro:

My sizes are 5 6”, 148 lbs, 32.5 waist , 37.5 chest. By the chart I should get a Medium Short, which you dont have. Will a Medium work OK on me, even though it seems a bit too long?

    Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Height is considered a secondary measurement by the manufacturers. As long as it fits the torso correctly and snugly, the manufacturers feel legs and arms can be pushed or rolled up a bit if need be. It should work fine.

  • Jason:

Im 5 ft 11 in, 200 - 205 lbs, 42-43" shoulders, 33-34" waist, and so fall between the ML and L size according to the chart. What would be the better option. Going for the weight/shoulder fit (L) or for the waist fit (ML)? Thanks in advance.

    Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

The Large would be a better choice.
