How does this suit run? My husband and I are just starting to learn to dive so we have only worn commercial overused, badly fitting suits. My measurements seem between sizes. I am @ 56", 130+lbs., bust 35ish, waist 28", hips 39". I am long in the torso w/ muscular thighs and calves. Will size 10 be the best choice for me?
Hello, I want to buy a dive skin to my father buy I dont know how can i choose the size. Can you help me? My father is 177 centimeters tall and 200 pounds.
hi, another question can this item if worn alone be warmer than a lycra skin, say in 70 to 80 degree water?
I purchased a 3mm wet suit in a size 12 womens and now I would like to purchase a .5mm or 1mm. Does the size run the same or vary depending on the mm. Thanks for you assistance.
Each manufacturer has a slightly different sizing chart from the next and often even different charts within the same manufacturer for different suits. The most important measurements any time you purchase a wetsuit using the manufacturer's sizing charts will always be your waist and chest/bust measurements. The suit needs to fit your torso correctly in order to do its job properly. Keep in mind there is no such thing as a comfortable wetsuit on the surface. You want it to be snug, but not cut off circulation to your extremities. The more snug it is, the thinner the layer of water your body is heating. If its too loose you will remain warm for awhile, but eventually your body won't be able to keep up with the greater amount of water flowing through the suit and you'll wind up getting cold faster. After that your height is a secondary measurement. The manufacturers realize that generally speaking your boots and gloves can overlap slightly short arms and legs, or the diver can push or roll up longer sleeves and/or arms if need be. Weight is a measurement the diver can usually ignore. It really has little to no bearing what so ever on the sizing and fit of your suit. The manufacturers do not take into account muscle being more dense than fat, so based simply on fitness levels 2 people can be the exact same size but quite different in weight. This measurement should only be used if the person is literally on the fence between 2 sizes in all categories.
Ill be diving in Bonaire 1/24-2/1 and am wondering what thickness neoprene wetsuit I should buy?
Hello Tia, the suit I would suggest for you is the: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-44/010629/Henderson-17oz-Superior-Polyolefin-Dive-Skin-Jumpsuit.html. That will give you the same warmth as a 2mm suit without the buoyancy of a neoprene.
I received my order today that included a Henderson small womans 1.5 mm microprene wetsuit. Order #14511805. The fit is good except around the shoulders and upper chest, there it seems to be less fitted. Across the chest and hips okay. Im wondering if I should order the xs size (there is a demo xs Henderson 1.5 mm available) or should I just call it good? Ill need to order it and have shipped Sat in order for it to arrive in time because Im leaving 5/17. Then one of the suits would be returned. Ill check my email Sat morning, or I can call. Thank you, Lynn
Hello Lynn, yes if you would like to order the size XS in the demo we have you can. You would have 120 days unused in water to return an item. Yes this suit should fit snug in the areas that are loose on you. If you did go to the size XS here is the different in the sizes: 1" in overall length 2" in the waist and 2" in the bust.
I am considering purchasing a Henderson Microprene 2 full suit for my next dive trip to Jamaica. I am 62", 200 lbs., 36-38" waist and 42-44" in the chest. I am thinking an XLG in a mens? I think the L Tall would be tight in the waist and chest. This will replace a 0.5mm Scubapro wetsuit that is falling apart. If Hendersons are still manufactured in the USA, I like that! Thanks, Andy in NJ
I am looking for a suit for Brittish Virgin Islands in August 80+ temps, I think. I want to stay warm and not get chilled. Is this a good option, or should I opt for a 3mm version?
Microprene 2® is an ultra thin, super stretch neoprene® that will provide the comfort and freedom of movement found in a Hot Skin® but with the warmth and durability that Skins and fleece can’t provide.
