I want some buoyancy to help me in my triathlon swim, but not looking for a vest and I dont want a full wet suit. Will this give me some added buoyancy?
Hi Cher, This vest will offer you a little buoyancy. Below is a link to the triathlon suits. They are designed to swim in. http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-608/Swimming-Triathlon.html
I am competing in a triathlon this weekend and need the product delivered Saturday morning. If I order today, is it guaranteed that the prodeuct will arrive Saturday morning (barring any delivery service issues)?
I just ordered the medium of this vest and its great but the chest is too big. Yet it fits everywhere else. Would I be better off exchanging it for a small? Im tall so I ordered the medium(59" and 148lbs). I have a triathlon next weekend and I need this fast!
i seem to fall squarely into body gloves mt size (im 61", 160lbs), but dont see that size offered for this item what would you recommend? thank you!
Hi. I want to buy this vest but I am a size 14. The comment section indicated your XL would be too small. Can you advise me maybe on one of the mens sizes or a comparable product in the same price range? Thanks
I really like this vest and wonder if it has enough stretch for my bust of a 40C. ordering the XL size. I want to use it for snorkleing in Hawaiian waters in a month. Time frame from Oct thru December. Do you think it will fit me? I would also like to order wet suit shorts, too Thanks Priscilla PS I am a 66 y/o female
Hello Priscilla, yes you would be good in the women XLarge. If you want a few more inches to play with take a look at the men large sizing I think that would work a little better for you. As for the shorts I would suggest the Neosport by Henderson 1.5mm XSPAN Super-Stretch Wetsuit Shorts web link: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-43/148911/Neosport-by-Henderson-1.5mm-XSPAN-Super-Stretch-Wetsuit-Shorts.html. Hello, my son has to swim a lot of laps in a cold pool as part of a sportsteam. He is 10, can you recommend some kind of fleece top or jacket that would not make him too bouyant?
Hello Julie, the item I would suggest for your son would be the LavaCore by Oceanic Trilaminate Polytherm Long Sleeve Dive Rash Guard web link: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-60/110962/LavaCore-by-Oceanic-Trilaminate-Polytherm-Long-Sleeve-Dive-Rash-Guard.html?fs=1. This will give him the same warmth as a 2mm but will not add any float to his swimming.
I swim in my community pool every day. Once summer is gone it starts getting cool. Is a body glove (front zipper) vest your recommendation? I looked at 6% short sleeve Rash Guard too. Im 185 Lbs and my chest is 42 but my waist (middle) is 44. Im 5" 11" Would a XLarge Short or 2Xlarge short be most comfortable?
The sizing charts show all the sizes for all the products made by each manufacturer. Not all products are made in all sizes. Such is the case with the vests. They are not made in the "short" or "long" sizing as they are open at the bottom of the torso. With your given dimesnions, you are going to be looking at the XL sizing.
To: Cert. Instr Bob: Further response to my earlier question "I swim ..." You recommended XL size. Should I order a 2XL as well so I can be sure and get the best fit? Second, what 6% short sleeve Rash Guard size would be a comparable size for me? Im going to order both Body Glove Vests and Rash Guards. Just want to sure on the sizing.
i swim in a cold pool. my current EVO 2mm wet suit vest deteriorated after about 5 months in the pool. will this vest hold up longer than 5 months? also, i have a 34 inch chest, i am 54" and i weight about 125. what size, in womens, should i purchase.
I do not know what is my size
The most important measurements any time you purchase a wetsuit or other wetsuit type item using the manufacturer's sizing charts will always be your waist and chest/bust measurements. The suit needs to fit your torso correctly in order to do its job properly. Keep in mind there is no such thing as a comfortable wetsuit on the surface. You want it to be snug, but not cut off circulation to your extremities. The more snug it is, the thinner the layer of water your body is heating. If its too loose you will remain warm for awhile, but eventually your body won't be able to keep up with the greater amount of water flowing through the suit and you'll wind up getting cold faster. After that your height is a secondary measurement. The manufacturers realize that generally speaking your boots and gloves can overlap slightly short arms and legs, or the diver can push or roll up longer sleeves and/or arms if need be. Weight is a measurement the diver can usually ignore. It really has little to no bearing what so ever on the sizing and fit of your suit. The manufacturers do not take into account muscle being more dense than fat, so based simply on fitness levels 2 people can be the exact same size but quite different in weight. This measurement should only be used if the person is literally on the fence between 2 sizes in all categories.
will the 3mm wetsuit vest give me enough bouyancy to aid in clearing my mask while snorkeling
Hello Steven, it will add some buoyancy but if your looking for a something to aid you while snorkeling then take a look at the Innovative Jacket Style Snorkeling Vest web link: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-5/004417/Innovative-Jacket-Style-Snorkeling-Vest.html.
I have the womens Neosport 2.5mm vest size 6 but I would prefer a vest a little longer. It looks like the Bodyglove vest is longer. What are the measurements of the womens Bodyglove 3mm vest (from top to bottom)?
I am a female, my chest is 40DD and my waist is 42. What size body glove vest do I need, is it the men XL or the men 2XL?
HI, i have had chest surgery and Iam looking for something that will give me a little extra compression to support my best and stomach. will this work like the compression tees i currently wear?
Hello Douglas, when you are sizing a wetsuit or dive skin. The two most important measurements are going to be your chest/bust and waist. Height is a secondary measurement and weight is the last measurement you take into account. If you are between sizes then go with the smaller of the two and yes this would work like you are looking for.
I have a chest port for plasmaphoresis and the dressing can not get wet. I am looking for a wetsuit vest that will keep it dry when I swim.
Hello Mike, the only option I know of that would do what you are looking for. Keep your chest dry is a Dry Suit: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-19/Dry-Suits-Dry-Suits.html. All the manufacture make them so a thin layer of water is trapped between you and the suit.
