Great suit for there should be however a section that tells you about the need for skins under this. Getting in and out the first few times is tough since you r skin is touching the rubber. Love the suit past that. This is comparable to my 5mm suit in warmth.

Rating: InstaDry is a Nice Warm Dive Wetsuit
Reviewer: Arthur H F., Monday, August 31, 2009
the price was right, so i decided to try the henderson instadry 3mm wetsuit. i tend to get cold easily doing multiple dives over a week and was looking for a warm dive suit. this is what i learned from reading the various comments and trying out the suit during a weeks dive trip. (1) you probably need to order one size up. I wear a size 6 in the henderson hyperstretch. The size 8 in the instadry fit nicely. (2) the suit is very! difficult! to get into. i tried putting a dry body into a dry suit and then a wet body into a wet suit, as was suggested. then i hit upon squirting diluted baby shampoo into the suit and on mei slid in easily (and smelled great as well after the dive)! (3) the 3 mil instadry suit is as warm or warmer than a 5 mil hyperstretch. (i had both suits with me and did comparisons.) i did not get cold at the end of hour-long dives, as i typically do. the instadry remains close to your skin, with almost no water leakage to the inside. additionally, there was no chilling from the wind at the surface. (4) the instadry is more buoyant than the hyperstretch suit of comparable thickness. thus, for the 3 mil instadry, i needed the same amount of weight as i did for the 5 mil hyperstretch (12 pounds for me). (with my hyperstretch 3 mil suit, i only need 8 pounds.) (5) the instadry suit does conform to your body gradually after about 6 dives or so and becomes more comfortable. i also found that i could help it along a bit the wrists were very tight on me. i managed to slip two metal drink glasses into the wrist openings. i let the suit lay that way for several days before my dive trip, and the wrist openings loosened up a bit and fit more comfortably. (6) the suit appeared very well made. i cannot evaluate long term durability since i just used the suit for a one week trip so far. however, the initial heavy duty tugging and pulling (before i tried the baby shampoo) did no damage. (7) the suit did dry very quickly. in fact, it almost seemed that it did not get wet. it is rubbery both inside and out, and thus there is no fabric to retain moisture. it never felt cold or wet getting back into it after an hour interval between dives. the suit also never developed that end-of-the-week smell that most wetsuits get. (i should probably look into instadry booties.) in conclusion, i will definitely use the instadry suit my next dive trip! i believe that the 3 mil instadry is as warm or warmer than many 5 mil suits.

Rating: Excellent fitting suit

I bought one of these for me and one for my wife. I was worried at first because it was very difficult to get on the first time. But since then I have put three dives on it and it seems to fit better every time. I dive in Hawaii so the water is not cool, but I have dove with this suit to 120 feet without feeling a single chill, and it seals very well. I also appreciate the lack of neoprene on the exterior, so it doesnt get snagged on velcro or other rough materials.

Rating: Henderson Insta Dry 3mm Wetsuit
Reviewer: Michael Farrell, Sr, Saturday, April 18, 2009 - View all my reviews
The suit does dry very quickly. After diving only 1 week, the seams in the back of the legs are starting to tear out. The knee pads are also breaking up. This is the second Insta Dry suit I have owned and both show similar problems. The good news is that Henderson is pretty quick on getting the repairs done.

Rating: Difficult to get on, but great in water.
Reviewer: Katherine B., Tuesday, February 17, 2009 - View all my reviews
This wetsuit has a very rubbery-feel, and does not feel like neoprene very much. I used this wetsuit for diving in the Caribbean in February. It was about 80-85F on land, and 78F in the water. Before I went on my trip, I wore it around my house a few times. At home, it got easier to put on after the first few times, and I could slide it on pretty good. Once I got to the Carbbiean, I had more issues because even a little bit of sweat on me totally prevented me from getting the suit on. One of my fellow divers recommended I get the suit and myself wet, so I used the spray hose at the dive shop to spray down my arms and legs as I was pulling it on. This worked like a charm! With the help of the hose, it was easy to get on. I felt the perfect temperature in the water with this suit. The carrying-case that comes with the suit is quite odd. It’s huge, ~22in X 20.5 in X 5.5in. This is way larger than needed to hold the wetsuit. The case is too large to put inside other luggage and too small and un-tough to use as a piece of luggage. It also came with a nice hanger and a towel.

Rating: Get the right size
Reviewer: Hana I., Tuesday, January 20, 2009
The suit fitted quite well. The arms were impossible to put on the first couple times, I had to get someone to stretch it to put my arms through. I did not get cold over a period of 11 dives in 5 days though, and bringing the suit home to cold Chicago was easy. The others had regular neoprene suits, and the suits did not dry the whole way home. When wearing it, make sure to wet it if you are wet, and if you are dry, make sure the suit is dry. Super awesome price!

I recieved my order quickly and was very impressed with the quality of the product. However, after trying the jumpsuit on -it was much to large. I shipped the product back without following the enclosed instructions(DA!)(or any information) except a return address. After a week or so I called Scuba.com hoping for the best. They had recieved my package, credited my account and assisted me in finding a more appropriate suit for my body type. I was very impressed and totally pleased.

Rating: Insta - rubber
Reviewer: Tom G., Wednesday, September 03, 2008
I bought this suit for my girlfriend. We had not tried one, but the description sounded GREAT! "Black Gold technology slip skin interior that slides on easily, seals out water and retains greater warmth." oooo! sounds awesome! What it really feels like is a tire inner tube. Its REALLY hard to get on, and pulls your skin as you try to get into it. I put one leg in and it started to rip the hairs out of my leg. OUCH.

Rating: Henderson Insta Dry 3mm
Reviewer: Rita W., Wednesday, July 30, 2008
This is the closest suit I could find to the Henderson Gold core farmer jane/jacket that I had for the last couple of years. I wish Henderson would make the farmer jane/jacket gold core 3mm again! Until they do the Insta Dry is great! I have only had the opportunity to use the suit 3x so far but it did great! It was warm and dried very quickly! I had no problem putting the suit on but it was harder if your skin was wet and the suit dry. In that case, it still went on great if you worked it up like hose! lol Very nice suit!

Rating: TOASTY!
Reviewer: James L., Sunday, June 15, 2008 - View all my reviews
I have used this wetsuit on three dives. It is difficult to get on at first but is getting easier. I still need help with the back zipper. It will stick to your skin and pull out your leg and arm hair. It works better if you wet your skin and the suit when putting it on so it slides better. It is as warm as my 7/5mm. It dries quickly as advertised. Due to the hassle of putting it on, Im not sure yet whether it is worth the price. But once it is on, it is my best wetsuit yet after 25 years of surfing, snorkeling, and scuba diving.
