Rating: Used for Snorkeling
Reviewer: Dave Poli
Im 6-1" and 195 lbs. and a large fits perfectly. Ive snorkeled twice with this suit in NJ bays with temps in the upper 60s (getting cold was not an issue). This suit stretched so getting in and out of it was very easy (Ive struggled getting into and out of wetsuits). And because of its stretchability, the fit was snug and no water pockets could develop to rob heat from my body. I would absolutely recommend this suit.

Rating: Good fit
Reviewer: LESTER H.
this fit well and seems to be a good product, i had ordered a 7 mm suit online from someone else a year ago and what a hassle with sizing the wet suit was made not in the us and i could not get into it. by comparison this was an excellent fit snug enough to minimize water flow through and easy enough to get into and out of. im 57" and 168.

Rating: Great Suit!
Reviewer: Kristi Waldschlager
Im 6 1/2", 150 lbs. I purchased the medium and it is just about perfect. Could be a little bit longer in the legs and arms but its not yet to the point of being too short. I could wear a large though, because my friend has the same suit in a large and hes 5 11" 160 lbs. it is a little looser and so would be slightly less warm, however it left more correct in length. If this suit had a "medium-tall" option it would be the best suit for your money on the market. I gave it 4 stars bc of the lack of sizing options but really I just happened to fall right between a size so most people would give it a 5.

Rating: Great first wetsuit!
Reviewer: Michael Dyer
I was a little hesitant to buy this wetsuit since its fairly inexpensive to most of the others ones out there. Ive taken it out on 2 dives with water temps in the mid 60s and have been completely comfortable. Seems like a good quality suit that will serve its purpose without spending a fortune. Sizing seemed accurate, even though it seemed really tight on me... Im sure thats what kept me warmer than some of the rental suits that were looser on me.

Rating: Henderson 5mm Mens wetsuit
Reviewer: cory keeler
Ok Ive been looking for a good summer suit for awhile now, Im a hull cleaner(and NO WETSUITS are made with us in mind as we deal with ALOT of barnacle/shell growth in our job, plus sharp metal/such as prop blades) but this suit has been working AMAZING for me this summer. Ive been using it since the beginning of july, and there arent any cuts, tears, wear, etc aside from 1 that was due too a snag getting on the dock(my fault completely). Id also like to make it known that I only got the free shipping and was told it would take about 2 weeks to arrive, but received it 4 days later(would have been 3 if not for the 4th of July holiday)....AWESOME PRODUCT! EVEN MORE AWESOME SIGHT!!! Thank you SCUBA.COM for everything and you will be the FIRST place I look for any of my scuba/job related needs! Thanks again sincerely! Cory Keeler

Questions and Answers for Neosport by Henderson 5mm Wetsuit:

  • Dolores:

I am 57" and weigh 190 lbs. What size should I get. I only want this to swin in the pool in March and April mostly. I exercise in the pool. We live in Northwest Florida and the pool doesnt really warm up til the end of May or June....and I thought I could exercise in the pool longer than Sept. or Octo....

    Kevin  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

The most important measurements when choosing a wetsuit would be your chest and waist. As far as exercising in this wetsuit, the 5mm neoprene will be very restrictive when trying to swim. I would recommend a thinner suit like a 3/2mm.

  • Alex:

Hello, Is this suit good for windsurfing in Lake Ontario?

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Alex, since you will not be in the water the whole time. Yes this suit will give you the flex ability and warmth for wind surfing.

  • Gina:

Can I use it for surfing?

    Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Yes most suits can be used for surfing, snorkeling or diving.

  • Marina:

How does this wetsuit compare to a scubapro wetsuit? Ive never used another wetsuit than a Scubapro but I will be diving in Belize so I need a thicker wetsuit because I get cold easily especially on deeper dives.

    Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

The suit compares to Scubapro, and any other manufacturer's suits, very well. Neosport is Henderson's Sport line but the suits are still made by the same people, on the same machines, using the same materials that the high end Henderson suits are. That being said, Henderson is among the most innovative and inventive of all the wetsuit manufacturers.

  • Vicky:

Im a 52" woman at 117 lbs. What size should I buy? By the measurement chart, Id be on the high end of size small but low end of size medium. But Im concerned about the height measurements, where both womens small and medium are too long. Can I buy a size XS in mens and still fit a womans figure?

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Vicky, when you are sizing a wet suit the two most important measurements will be your chest/bust and waist measurements. Height is a secondary measurements and weight is the last measurements. The only difference between the men and women suits is the sizing and the cut of the suit.

  • freddy:

i am 6ft 200 lbs with a 35 waist and a 40 chest what size should i get Im not so sure

    Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Based on the info you give, you'd be a size Large. The most important measurements any time you purchase a wetsuit using the manufacturer's sizing charts will always be your waist and chest/bust measurements. The suit needs to fit your torso correctly in order to do its job properly. Keep in mind there is no such thing as a comfortable wetsuit on the surface. You want it to be snug, but not cut off circulation to your extremities. The more snug it is, the thinner the layer of water your body is heating. If its too loose you will remain warm for awhile, but eventually your body won't be able to keep up with the greater amount of water flowing through the suit and you'll wind up getting cold faster. After that your height is a secondary measurement. The manufacturers realize that generally speaking your boots and gloves can overlap slightly short arms and legs, or the diver can push or roll up longer sleeves and/or arms if need be. Weight is a measurement the diver can usually ignore. It really has little to no bearing what so ever on the sizing and fit of your suit. The manufacturers do not take into account muscle being more dense than fat, so based simply on fitness levels 2 people can be the exact same size but quite different in weight. This measurement should only be used if the person is literally on the fence between 2 sizes in all categories.

  • David:

Im new to diving. convinced I dont want to wear a rental for training. I am 58, I wear a 43R jacket, waist is ~35-36 and weigh ~180. will I fit in a Large or is an XL too big for the Neosport 5mm?

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello David, these suit should feel snug. Going by your size I would suggest you get the size Large.

  • Jennifer:

Hey there, Ive been spring/cavern diving in Florida with an ill fitting 7 mm suit (full arms, short legs). Im 52" 115 lbs. Temps are around 70, but dives can run longer than an hour at depths of 80-100. Will a 5mm suit be suitable for these types of dives? I am really interested in the flexibility of the suit without spending a fortune. Perhaps a 7/5 suit you can recommend?

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Jennifer, here is the suit I would suggest for you: That suit should work very well for you with flex and warmth

    Arthur  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello, your right in between the 2xl and the 3xl. I would lean towards the 3xl also.

  • Donna:

What type of wetsuit do you need for New Zealand and would this work? Thanks

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Donna, if you are in the northern part of the country yes this suit would work for the water temp. If you are in the southern part of the country than I would suggest going with the 7mm version of this suit. It also depends on the time of year you are going too.

  • Bono:

Hi, I am 163cm height and 165lb weight. For Waterproof wetsuit, I am using S size. Can you recommend the size of Henderson wetsuit to me? Thank!

    Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

Hello Bono, when you are sizing a wet suit or dive skin the two most important measurements are your chest/bust and waist. Height is a secondary measurement and weight is the last measurement you would take into account.

  • Charly:

Hi. I am looking for a wetsuit to go snorkeling in the winter in Florida. I was wondering if the Henderson 5mm is sealed/blind stitched. Also will it keep me warm in 60 degree water? Thank you !

    Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at

All wetsuits for scuba and snorkeling will be glued and blind stitched. This stitching process was designed to keep the suit from tearing out at the seams.
