I am new to scuba and had this snorkel recommended by other divers. Snorkel works great, I do wish it had a better mask attachment to it, I have had it come off while diving. Otherwise it does what a snorkel should.

I only swim laps with my snorkel and have a hard time finding a comfortable mouth piece. Part of the prob seems to be inflexibility of the tube. It rubs my gums on the left side. Do some have less bulk to them? Less stuff that goes in the mouth?

Snorkels come in a variety of types and configurations. If the one you have now is causing some discomfort while swimming a snorkel with a molded base would quite possibly work better or more comfortably.
