Rating: Scubamax Kids Totally Dry Snorkel
Reviewer: Keith Hedrick, Monday, July 27, 2009
I bought this for my 6 year old, and he loves it. He was not experienced enough to clear it himself even with a bottom dump valve, but this snorkel does the trick. Keeps water out regardless of how he submerges. Fits his mouth perfectly. I would recommend this as an excelent first snorkel of kids.

Rating: not totally dry

The snorkel did not meet the description of being totally dry...or dry at all. The 1st time my son used this in Mexico it completely filled the entire snorkel and he took a mouth full of saltwater. Ended up purchasing another snorkel at a local SCUBA shop that worked as a totally dry snorkel.

Rating: Great dry snorkel for kids!
Reviewer: Sean Sheldrake, Monday, December 01, 2008
my kids got hooked on snorkeling with this dry snorkel. it does indeed keep all the water out while snorkeling on the surface, moderate diving, and with wave action. the kids have tried to use old style (purge type) snorkels, but this does suck all the fun right out of snorkeling, especially for a beginner. kids will be kids though, mine get so excited while snorkeling that they keep biting the bite tabs offit would be nice if spares could be purchased given that kids have to learn to bite gently, and their first snorkel suffers some of their new snorkeler bad habits...

I still use the old type tube snorkel. I wanted to try somnething different so I purchased this snorkel for my children. This was the first time my children used a mask and snorke and I was amazed at how well the snorkel worked. No water entered the tube. I took a fraction of the time to get them used to breathing. Great Product. I would definitley recommend this item.

This snorkel is great and DRY. The purge works well and the grandchildren had a GREAT first experience at snorkeling in the Caribbean.

Rating: Product is good, watch age of snorkeler

My 5 yr old loves to swim around, and we tried to get her to snorkel. Though she took to it easy enough and put it in her mouth and swam around in the pool, she didnt make much use of it in the ocean. The snorkel itself was dry, but when a young user is using it, theres still the opportunity for water to get in at the mouthpiece. after the first swallow of ocean water, that was enough for my daughter. She opted to freedive instead. But I tried the snorkel myself, and can vouch that it does a great job for a more experienced swimmer. I think it would work better in the ocean for someone at least 7 yrs old.

Rating: Taking my 7 yr old Granddaughter to Bonaire
Reviewer: Susan Gant, Tuesday, September 19, 2006 - View all my reviews
I wanted to get something that was easy for her to use, so she wouldnt choke at all, or hyperventilate her first time snorkeling. Well, she was in the pool for about 3 minutes and was snorkeling like a pro. There are no fancy, delicate parts for this snorkel, and it is TOTALLY dry. I dont have to worry about it getting broken or failing. This is a good product.

My girls are 5 and 6 and had no problem learning to snorkel with these. They really enjoyed using them.

my son like the fact that the mouthpiece fit him better and it was for kids. It still got some water in it. It is certainly a big improvement over traditional snorkels but not perfect

Rating: Works great

My son can easily expell any water that does get in w/ a little puff. None gets in the top but he does get it in himself by talking under water!! Very comfy for little mouths.
