Rating: I always had a problem withdry mouth while diving
Reviewer: robert dixon  -  View all my reviews
This product is excellent - unlike many, I prefer a "wet" regulator - always have - now, with the emphasis on "dry" a product like this is excellent. The company has done a poor job of getting the word out - as Im constantly asked "What is that" - but I love it - have used it for almost 10 years - my previous one had a slight crack, so I had to replace it.

Rating: Extended Bottom Time
Reviewer: Michael Brown
I have struggled to get my wife to complete anything longer than a 30 minute dive. Since I added the Biofilter to her regulator, she has logged many 50+ minute dives with no problem. She learned how to fill and maintain the filter no problem. We did have a hard time filling the filter through the small hole provided in the biofilter, but opening it is easy enough. Overall, great product and worth every penny.

Rating: Bio-Filter is a MUST
Reviewer: Ron Honnold
When I saw the Bio-Filter advertised in a dive magazine, my first thought was "sounds way too good to be true." Well, I purchased one and will NEVER dive without it again. My husband dives on Nitrox and I was surfacing with more air than him. That was extremely unusual for me. I never got "dry mouth" and was not exhausted. The dives were extremely comfortable and after the second dive I was definitely sold on the product. I cannot thank you enough for making my dives more comfortable and safe. Kathee

Rating: Best Filter
Reviewer: Andy Williams  -  View all my reviews
I have to say I was worried about spending the money for this filer but after using on a live-aboard I was just on I have to say I will never go back to diving without it. My mouth was never dry and the dive was better because of this.

Rating: Apollo filter a plus
Reviewer: Randall Arko  -  View all my reviews
The Apollo moisture system was something that really sounded appealing to me. I was somewhat dissappointed with the instructions and information but once I used the filter a few times I noticed an improvement in getting the moisture to my mouth. It seemed like with normal breathing I still experienced some dryness but I could suck the air and draw moisture thru the filter. I am happy with the filter and will continue to use it on all my dives. Although I still experienced some dryness I could feel the difference at the end of consecutive dives, no headache or tiredness.

Rating: Good bye cotton mouth!

This is a great product!, my Scuba buddies are all jealous I leave the water with no cotton mouth and it has zero affect on my regulator, it was a great addition to my scuba setup, highly recommended for all divers.

Rating: Solves Many Problems
Reviewer: Martin K.
This item was greatly anticipated and it did not disappoint. Its fit and finish is excellent and it performs as advertized. Breathing filtered, moist air is a pleasure and it eliminated "cotton mouth" and even makes equalizing easier. I cant say enough good about this product! Bravo Apollo!

Rating: Not sure I would buy again
Reviewer: Brian McHugh
Seems to put alot of moisture in at the start of the dive, however I think it dries out pretty fast especially since I dive a 120 cf tank. Ive never had a poor tasting or smelling fill so I cant comment on its filtering ability.

Rating: Bio Filter
Reviewer: Gus Ramirez  -  View all my reviews
this is the greatest invention for diving. i suffered from major dry mouth every time i dove. since i normally dive any where from 3 to 5 dives a day, dry mouth was a big problem. with the apollo bio-filter, its now a different expereince. i return to the boat without suffering a major need to drink water. with the bio-filter, as your breathe in, you can feel in your mouth s of waters which is exremely satisfying and makes the diving experence pleasureable. i think everyone should have a bio-filter attached to your regulator. the only problem i had, my filter did not come with the carbon filter. i called scuba.com and they wanted me to send the entire package back. i was going diving and did not want to be without it. i plan on buying one. thank you for the bio-filter. gus ramirez 518-424-5275

Rating: Apollo Bio Filter
Reviewer: Elaine G.  -  View all my reviews
I purchased the bio filter at the recommendation of another diver who also experienced troubly with breathing the dry air. Since I have installed it I no longer suffer from the cotton mouth syndrome many divers experience. I have only used it a few times now but absolutely notice the difference. I would have given it 5 stars except I felt the packaged instructions could have been a bit clearer.

I have the Atomics T2x regulator. Should I buy the 3/8" or 1/2" Bio-Filter Moisture System for installation? Whats the difference?

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

    3/8" will fit the Atomic.

  • David:

    Is it all Apex regs???

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello David, yes this would fit the 3/8 inch low pressure port on your Apex first stage.

  • hazem:

Hi I have the legend aqualung reg. I do not know if the 3/8 or the 1/2 inch apollo bio filter will fit my reg thanks

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

It will work with a 3/8" hose fitting.

  • Chris:

I have been happy with my filter but it started leaking air from the water-fill port (small hole on the downstream side). I have been unable to fix the issue. Has anyone experienced a similar issue, and if so what is the fix. Thanks.

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

We''ve not heard this before. We''d recommend contacting the folks at Apollo Sports USA for a solution.

DEHYDRYATIONis a problem for many divers.
It effects how you feel before, during and after each dive. The
air you breathe on land has the moisture your body needs to
function properly. Tank air lacks humidity. The level is less
than 0.1% which is great for the tank but not for you. Lack of
humidity in tank air can wreak havoc on your body.

It can cause even the most prepared diver to become dehydrated.
Dry throat and cotton mouth are obvious indications that your
body isn’t getting what it needs. The lack of moisture can
adversely eect your entire sytem. Smart divers drink plenty of
water to keep hydrated. This of course is a helpful habit, but it
doesn’t really solve problems inherent to breathing dry tank air

The force used to create humidity also produces
negative electrons, these attach to oxygen molecules
to become negative ions of oxygen. 7000-8000 pcs/cc
of negative ions are generated by the bio-lter with each
breath. A quantity similar to that produced by waterfalls.
Negative ions refresh, invigorate, and increase alertness
to improve diving pleasure and performance.

The bio-lter moisture system contains
wick for diver to saturate with distilled
water before each dive. As air passes
through the ow tube; small openings
on the side create a vacuum to draw
moisture from wick and into air stream
Throughout dive, the air you breathe
has a more natural and refreshing
humidity level of 40-70%.
In addition to being bone dry, tank
air can contain particles of dust, rust,
and oil residue. The bio-lter also
accommodates an activated charcoal
lter. See Bio-micro clean air system,
page X, for full story.
