Questions and Answers for Aqua Lung Mikron Regulator:
George:
Could you help me, as I am confused:
In doing research, I learned that the 1st stage for the Aqualung Micron and Titian LX are the same.
However, the Aqualung web-site shows the 1st stage for the Micron having 2 high-pressure outlets and the 1st stage for the Titian LX as having one.
Which of these is correct? It is not merely an academic matter, as I dive with a transmitter, and I use two HP outlets.
Also, I have read that many of the 1st stage parts are common across the Aqualung line, including the Micron. Is this the case?
In fact, I read somewhere that you could put the deep water kit for the Titian on the Micron 1st stage, although they still didnt recommend using the reg below 50 degrees due to the small size of the diaphram on the Micron 2nd stage.
This is relevant, as I live in the Philippines, where parts and service can both be a problem, and interchangability is often the key to getting something repaired. In fact, I am shying away from the Apeks Flight becasue of a unique 2nd stage hose arrangment, and lack of interchangability with other Apeks regulators (although there is great interchangibility amoung units in the rest of the line!)
Many thanks for your help,
Ged Smith

Aqua Lung has once again raised the bar on regulator design with the release of Mikron – the smallest and lightest weight regulator in the line. Weighing in at just 26 oz. (din) and 31 oz. (yoke), the traveling diver will benefit tremendously. Even more amazing is that performance is not sacrificed by the extreme compactness of the regulator. Its balanced first and second stages produce exceptional breathing performance.
Features of Mikron:
Compact dimensions and low weight blend comfort with a unique diving experience
A new, braided hose, weighing less than 5 oz., provides flexibility, comfort and excellent packability
Black/pink version features a new, smaller Comfo-bite™ mouthpiece designed for smaller mouths, and the silicone bridge which fits across the upper palate can now be detached
The first stage is a balanced diaphragm type that sports 2 HP port (7/16) and 4 MP ports (3/8)
The second stage has an adjustment knob that allows the diver to optimize the opening effort. In the “Mini” position, the opening effort is increased, which is ideal for avoiding free flows at the surface. In the “Maxi” position, the inhalation effort is reduced, reducing the work of breathing
The reduced size and weight makes the Mikron the ideal choice for young adults
