"Scuba Lab Testers Choice!"
Hello, Please can you tell me if the ScubaPro Air II balanced scuba octo is compatible with the Mares Dragon Ergo Scuba BC with MRS Plus Weight System. Additionally can I know why this Device is horizontally inverted as compared to other inline units (e.g. XS Scuba Airwave Plus Inline Scuba Octo) The mouth piece on this unit is facing the right side, while the mouthpiece on all other units is facing the left ? Is this a fault with the image or will it be facing the opposite side ? Thank you soooo much for your help and support. Best Regards.
Mares has a specific attachment for their low pressure inflators. We recommend using the Mares Air Control for an integrated octo. http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-33/035071/Mares-Alt-Air-Control-Integrated-Scuba-Octo.html The graphic is confusing, but the Air II uses the same configuration as the others and will work correctly on any BC that it is designed to work with.
Hi, Does the Scubapro Air 2 come complete with the inflation hose as well as the corrugated hose? Thank you.
Hello James, Thank you for your inquiry! The Scubapro Air 2 does come complete with the inflation hose but does not include the corrugated hose. The AIR II is compatible with all BC's except by Aeris, Aqua-Lung, Cressi, Hollis, Oceanic, SeaQuest, TUSA models with the A.P.A. Active Purge Assist inflator system, US Divers and XS Scuba. http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-33/035620/ScubaPro-Air-II-Balanced-Scuba-Octo---4th-Generation.html If you would like to place an order or have questions, please contact one of our certified Dive Instructors at SCUBA.com by calling 800-247-2822 <> 949-221-9300 or e-mail us at: email@example.com
Will this work with the Cressi Light Jac BCD?
Hello Andrew, no this will not work for your Cressi-Sub BCD. The unit you are looking for is the Atomic SS1 Octo web link: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-33/035069/Atomic-SS1-Scuba-Octo.html.
Hi. Work this with Hollis HD 100 ? Thx.
Hello KuKi, no this will not work for the Hollis System. If you are looking for this style to fit the Hollis System take a look at this one: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-33/035069/Atomic-SS1-Octo.html.
Is the ScubaPro Octo - Air II compatible with a Tusa Platina BCD? I have a Sherwood Gemini on that BCD now. I love the streamlining of have an inflator octo, but the Sherwood Gemini is unreliable.
My Bc is Hollis Ride, it is possible to configured with this air2?
Hello Caleb, no this will not work for your Hollis BCD. If you are looking for a system that will work for your Hollis BC take a look at the: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-33/035069/Atomic-SS1-Octo.html.
This fifth-generation octo/inflator is now easier to use than ever. As a backup regulator in high-stress situations, the AIR2 breathes like a dream, rivaling some second stage models. It is CE-certified for waters 10-degree Celsius or warmer. The large, flexible purge button provides quick clearing when it counts. Divers can also enjoy pin point buoyancy control with the AIR2. Its large inflate and deflate buttons are easy to distinguish, and the device fits comfortably in hand. For reliable performance without dangling hoses, the AIR2 is a standout.
An octo/inflator combines a backup regulator with a BC's buoyancy control system in one compact, at-the-ready unit. The cool thing about an octo/inflator is that it's always within reach because it's constantly being used to control descents, adjust buyoancy, and vent air during ascents. In the even of an emergency there's no need to grope for a dangling octo reg; simply pass your primary reg to the diver in need while you take the octo/inflator, enabling you to breath easily and control your buoyancy as you make your way safely back to the surface.
SCUBAPRO introduced the octo/inflator concept to diving almost thirty years ago with the introduction of the original AIR2. Now in it's 5th generation, it offers even more in both performance and ease of use.
As a backup reg the AIR2 delivers air as smoothly as most primary second stages. The flexible purge cover is large and easy to locate, allowing for quick clearing when it comes time to take a breath. In addition, a new dive/pre-dive switch lets you detune the AIR2 when it's not being used, eliminiating free flows. And unlike traditional dangling octos, the AIR2 is always within easy reach if needed.
As a BC power inflator the AIR2 is very easy to use. It fits comfortably in the hand, and the large inflate and deflate buttons can be differentiated by both color and touch, improving safety on both ascents and sescents. The power inflate button features a very light lever so it's easy to initiate inflation. Also, both inflate and deflate buttons are positioned on top of the housing making them easier to operate when breathing off the unit without having to change hand positions.
If you want a reliable backup reg that's always within easy reach that does double-duty as a BC inflator/deflator, and that streamlines your dive profile by eliminating a dangling octo hose, you're goning to love the AIR2. It was diving's first octo/inflator and, with five generations of improvements, it's still the best.
