Rating: Wow. High quality mask
Reviewer: Benjamin Shey,
This mask is great piece of scuba equipment. Let me start with the packaging. I comes in a great hard case, but unlike some other mask boxes, the mask stands upright with the lenses perpendicular to the horizontal. In other words, the mask sits in the box in the same orientation that one would wear it (as opposed sitting with the lenses facing up).
The mask itself is super high quality. If you have a high nose bridge, i wouldnt recommend this mask. The mask it low profile due to the subframe technology, and the cross bit over the nose is actually metal. The lenses are great. They are so clear and dont have a greenish tint. You cant even tell they are there. The mask strap fits perfectly in the mask strap covers they sell here. The mask strap has a great, simple and easy system for tightening and loosening the strap.
The mask itself is not at all leaky and is comfortable. I dont know what more to say... Its a great scuba mask!

Rating: The best mask...period!
Reviewer: Reid Halverson,
Ive used a lot of masks and this one by far has been the best so now I own 2 of them. They dont fog rarely leak but if they do its minimal. I went on a dive in Playa del Carmen and the dive masters were all impressed how well this mask did.

I would like to order the Atomic Subframe dive mask in black and yellow. I also want to order it with a -5.5 diopter. However, I can not add the lenses to my order. Every time I click order lenses, I go to a page that lists scuba gear, not lens options.
Bill (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Go to the mask section and then to "masks with optical lenses" from there you can pick the mask and right below the mask is the dropdown for the corrective lenses. Just the order the mask and lenses from that page.
David:
bill,
there is no down window for lenses. there is a down window for color and sizes. i have on many attempts clicked to lenses for xs, atomic, sherwood, and... each time i am directed to a page that has categories and packages. in short, the site does not have lenses and until someone tries on their own to order lenses, the problem will not be fixed.

Hello David, right now with the Atomic mask. The only optical lens that is available is the full lens is a negative prescription that will be the full lens (for near sighted). If you are looking for a down look mask with a +1.75 lens then I would suggest the XS Scuba Down Look Scuba Dive Mask with Gauge Reader web link: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-32/027145/XS-Scuba-Down-Look-Mask-with-Gauge-Reader.html. Or if you are looking for a stronger optical lens then we do have a few that we can suggest to you. If you would like to place an order or have any other questions please feel free to give us a call at 1.800.347.2822.
Doyle:
Trying to decide on the size I need, what would be considered average adult small-medium or medium-large?
Darrick (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Hello Doyle, if the person wearing this mask is under 110 lbs then you will want the small/medium size. If you are over 110 lbs then you want the medium/large size. If you have any other questions or would like to place an order please feel free to give us a call at 1.800.347.2822.
Mike:
I am 180 lbs with a beard and my wife is 130 lbs with no beard. What size Atomic ultra clear subfram mask should we order for each of us. Thanks.
Bob (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Generally speaking the med/large fits just about all normal/average sized adults.
Rick:
I bought this mask at the local dive shop without any corrective lenses. Didnt know they were available. Can I order the corrective lenses (+2.5) for the far sighted and have them put in my mask at the local shop?
Bob (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Yes, they are replacement lenses that can be done by any dive shop.
Robert:
I need a mask with bifocal +2.25 what do you recommend +2.0 or +2.5
Bill (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
+2.0
Robin:
Can you give me the skirt measurements for this mask? With the mask face down, the measurements from the top edge of the skirt to the bottom, and the side edge to side edge. Metric, if possible. I have a very hard to fit face!
Bob (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Unfortunately we do not have that info. Also, that doens't necessarily have as much to do with the correct fit of your mask as the shape and style of the skirt and how the shape fits to the points on your face that my cause leakage.
Michael:
I wear progressive lenses (+2.50 - left, +1.25 - right). I have trouble reading my gauges, especially on night dives. What magnification do you recommend? Thanks, Mike
Bob (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
You purchase a dive mask with lenses using the Sphere reading off your optical prescription only. As they are only made in incriments of .50 you will round up to the next nearest .50 in power.
marty:
I have prescription glasses with blended lenses for short and far sight What do you recommend for a diving mask lense short or far
Darrick (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Hello Marty, most people go for short so they can read there gauges.
Kristi:
I need a new optical dive mask and I have a narrow face, what do you recommend? I saw several styles in optical masks on your page and would appreciate your input to get a good fit. thanks, kristi
Darrick (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Hello Kristi, I would suggest this mask in the smaller version of this mask.
A:
I tried this Atomic mask in the pool and found it leaking more than I want it to. Even descending from a still position down to 7 feet caused the mask to rise up a little and leak from the bottom. Im Asian, round face, smaller nose, but in need of a RX mask. Any suggestions to determine if this mask is the right one for me before I pay the $$ to get rx lenses installed?
Hello
On my way to Virgin Islands to snorkel. I need a good mask that I will use once or twice a year for a week. My face is fairly narrow. Please advise, I need these shipped to NJ within about 10 days
Bill (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
The smaller size for this mask would be a good choice. Ground orders are delivered within to weeks. You can place the order on the website. Select the need by date you need the order by and the shipping charge will be adjusted accordingly and listed when you proceed to checkout and prior to submitting the order.
Marilyn:
Im 58 yo women, weigh 155, have a slightly slimmer than average face. 90% of my snorkeling typically surface to 6-7 feet deep. Im getting these with optical lenses, what size mask do you think?
Bill (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
The smaller size fit narrower faces. As long as the item is not used in the water you have up to 60 days to refund or exchange it.
ben:
I want to see about ordering a mask with prescription lenses. I dont see an easy way to do this. Please advise.
Bill (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Go to the mask section and then the "masks with optical lens". There will be a link to add the lens. You will use the first number on each eye from your prescription.
Harry:
Looking for a mask that doesnt hurt the underside of my nose. I currently use a scubamax which works well but after awhile it seems to but pushing up on my septum which results in an annoying ache. Is there a design that would make a difference or is this just the way it is with all masks?
