Recently took this light on trip to Florida Keys. I try to use a small light like this as a focusing light as well as a primary dive light on night dives. This light was all I expected it to be. Very broad beam with lots of power for its size. If you like it bright, use the high setting, I prefer a little more stealth and used it at the 40% setting and had plenty of light. Ridiculously tiny, it will fit anywhere. If using the rechargeable batteries get two since they do take a l-o-n-g time to recharge, as in overnight.

It easily attached to my sealife camera and came with several other adapters. The light is bright on both settings, it appears to be well made and the battery lasted a long time with intermittent use including one night dive.

This is a great light, in spite of its rather high price. the "40%power feature is its best point.

I went diving last year in the night and I rented a light,I had it attached to my go pro but the light gave me a bright spot in the middle of the video, that is a hot spot I think ,does this light have that spot? The Hollis for $250 does not have it how about the sealife sea dragon?

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Frank, this light has a 76 degree wide beam. If you are looking for a focus light. Then take a look at the http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-31/026912/Hollis-L.E.D.3-Backup-Dive-Torch-Light.html. The Hollis has a 8 degree hotspot for focus light.

  • Joel:

Hi - taking a trip to Cocos Island and will be doing night dives, so Im looking for a good, small-ish primary dive light. I was considering the Sea Dragon Mini 600 and the UK SL4 e.LED L1. Do you have a recommendation as to which light I should get? If there is another brand/model you recommend that is in that same price range...feel free to let me know your thoughts.

Arthur  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello, the sea dragon is very comparable to the SL4 the SL4 is going to be larger and heavier though.
