Rating: Impact vs. Torrent LED lights
Reviewer: David S., Thursday, October 20, 2011
I recently went to Bonaire for a one week dive vacation. I had two Priceton Tec Impact LED lights and one Princeton Tec Torrent LED light (with a switch). We made 24 dives, including several dives down to 100 feet. We carried the Impact lights on every dive and had ZERO problems. However, we went on a couple of night dives and the FIRST dive to no more than 40 feet resulted in the Torrent light (my primary) flooding and failing. NOT GOOD. Lesson: the less expensive Impact with no switch was far better than the Torrent.

Rating: Back-up light so good it could be a primary.

on a recent night dive, i turned off my 4-cell light and just used this as the 4-cell was so bright. nice white light bright good range and shape of light zone. i own two and use them for back-up on night dives and as an accessory light for day dives for looking in crevices.

This item helps me see and focus on items and fish etc when scuba diving. The range is very good but it is small enough for ease of carrying it. The price was reasonable and with the sale made it very reasonable.

Rating: A Great Light for the money
Reviewer: Donnie C., Sunday, August 31, 2008
This is a great light. I carry two of them on every dive. They are good backups for overhead environments and they are very effective in open water when you need to look into dark spots or when you need some light because of your depth. They are small enough to clip to the front of your BCD and youll hardly know theyre there unless you need them.

Rating: Impact XL L.E.D. good to have

Im a "repeat buyer", I own 3, which should tell you something. Princeton Tec immediately replaces bulb burn-outs. Excellent light for the size, which makes it convenient to carry on any type of dive.

Rating: Great light!
Reviewer: Paul Dean, Wednesday, July 04, 2007 - View all my reviews
In the clear Caribbean waters, this is great as a primary dive light. Ive always used the UK C4 lights. With 4 cells, those are extremely clunky compared to this light, but this little 4 AA light gives better light. One of my favorite features is the fact that if you let this light dangle to use your hands for something else, it points straight down... Most other lights float and or bobble all over, making it look like you are in distress, or blinding others in your dive group.

Rating: Princeton Tec Impact XL LED
Reviewer: James A., Sunday, January 21, 2007 - View all my reviews
Very good backup dive light. I carry mine on all dives even during the day to look inside wrecks, under ledges, etc. Fits conveniently in BC pocket and LED provides good strong light. The only problem is sometimes the light can be on in your BC pocket when you dont know it due to the screw on/off power switch. Not a big enough problem to avoid this light though as long as youre careful.

Took this light on my last dive trip to the Yucatan, Mexico. It is a great utility light. Absolutely perfect for wall diving and swim throughs. Great as a primary when cavern diving and carrying a camera. Night diving you can use it as either a primary or a back up depending on the type of dive and your dive enviroment. I would highly recommend this light to anyone, battery life is good, and the light beam is far superior to conventional lights. I am going to buy more for friends. I will carry it everytime I dive. light is compact (just about 6"), has rubberized grips and fits hand well. Nice beam for a LED (has single bulb). Has the advantage of cheaper, available batteries over some smaller models. Had similar sized light from another manufacturer but like this design better. Plastic glows slightly in the dark. Hi viz yellow model easy to locate. Have not submerged yet. Also plan to use this light when kayak camping. Has integrated attachment point that seems durable and twist on/off feature should improve integrity (does require both hands to perform that function).

Rating: Little light outshines the giants
Reviewer: KRISTINE GULDBERG, Friday, October 13, 2006
This lights LED output, put larger lights to shame. I am an avid night diver, and carry 2 of these on every dive. The compact size, long lasting LED efficiency, and brightness are all I need for hunting elusive night creatures to photograph. I mount one light on my video housing for spotting purposes, and carry the other on my BC as a backup. During the day it is just what I need to find critters in small holes. With todays airline restrictions on weight, it is nice not to have to carry heavy lights with lots of extra batteries.
