sturdy enough to dig and pry with and it comes apart for cleaning, locking sheath holds knife securely yet is easy to release even with gloves on. All for a very reasonable price. You cant beat that.

Rating: Great gift idea
Reviewer: Oran Johnson
I bought this knife for my nephew who is a new diver. I am impressed with the price, and the very sharp edges, meaning two sharp edges. The fact that it can be taken apart for cleaning and oiling is an added bonus. A good buy.

Rating: Wenoka jack knife (pointed end)
Reviewer: M´Lee Pace  -  View all my reviews
I love my new Wenoka jack knife, it closely resembles but is smaller and less heavy than my original Wenoka knife from 1990 (which by the way is still in great shape, but is a little large!) The knife grip is large enough to hold onto securely. The holster has a nice quick release system, and straps securely to my calf. The knife has an impressive look to it, evil sea creatures beware!!!

Well-crafted. I particularly liked the grip and the way it seemed made for each finger. Does not slip from grasp, even with gloves. Compression straps fit either calf or thigh. Easy to operate release mechanism. Highly recommended.

Questions and Answers for Deep See Jack Knife:

  • jason:

how can I decide between the blunt tip and the sharp tip? most of my diving happens in the Monterey California area or out in the tropics like Hawaii, Dominican republic or mexico areas.

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Jason, if you use your knife for other then protection, then I would suggest going with a blunt tip. The blunt tip is a for universal tool.

  • alex:

what would be a best choice for a starter diver

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

This is a traditional leg-mounted dive knife that offers all the important features a scuba knife should have. A serrated edge, but cap, sturdy handle and secure sheath.

This dive knife is made from 420 series stainless steel and is available in either a sharp drop point or a blunt tip style. The knife features a 5 inch blade with an overall length of 9 ½-Inch. The one piece blade and tang makes complete disassembly and cleaning particularly easy. The metal top cap functions as a ''tank banger'', while the serrated top edge and built-in line cutter make the knife very versatile. A lanyard hole is built-in to the comfortable handle and the knife includes rubber leg straps.
