Eric:
Is the Aqua Lung SeaQuest Dimension i3 Scuba BC compatible with air integrated secondary air sources? For example the atomic aquatics SS1 octo?
Bill (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
No, there is no corrugated hose on the i3 system. You would use a standard octo setup with this BCD.
Philip:
Can you mount twin tanks 2x130 on this BCD ?

I have dilemma. I like this bc a whole lot, but Im 61 and 155 lbs. The M is a bit too short and the ML is too large in the waist. Any suggestions? Or should I just look for a better fit option with another manufacturer?
Bill (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
BCs typically do not take into consideration for torso measurements, so trying different manufacturers on for fit is the best way to choose. Waist and weight are the most important measurements.
Sean:
i am looking to switch to a back inflate to help with streamling. my jacket bc lets my legs . the only way i can stop it is to zip tie 2 lb hard weights to upper d rings on each side. will my regular low pressure hose fit this bcd? or is there an additional purchase to be water ready?
Bob (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
All new bcds will come with a new Low Pressure Inflator hose. Your old one will fit, providing it is not for an alternate air/inflator unit.
Doug:
I am fairly new to diving. I received my open water certification last February. I am looking to further my experience but will probably dive 2 to 3 times a year on vacation. I am looking for a back inflate bcd. Can you recommend at decent bcd?
Bill (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
thsi BC is a very nice back inflate sytle, it does have the i3 control which allows you to inflat or dump air from the bc with a push of a button. Very nice.
Doug:
How do I choose the correct size bcd?
What are the advantages of the i3 over the standard buoyancy controls?
Bill (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Weight and waist are the most important sizing. The i3 valve is located at pocket level on the right side, no need to lift the inflator hose over head to dump air.
Drake:
Large starts at 38" waist?? yikes.. Also Im 62" 185# 33"-34"w.. doesnt that keep me entirely out of this bc due to my height?? Anything else available with i3 technology that will fit my frame?
Bob (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Height isn't the most important measurement in any bcd. Your waist will always be first as the bcd needs to fit the torso snugly in order to minimize the amount of shifting of the unit during the dive. The harness is adjustable and will typically fit taller users than they are rated for comfortably.

An Aqua Lung first! The Dimension i3 is a back inflation BC with an integrated i3 inflation / deflation system. Loaded with features, this innovative buoyancy compensator is built with high quality materials keeping both comfort and style in mind.
By placing the air cell behind them, the diver is more streamlined
The integrated i3 control system provides a single touch control for both inflation and deflation
Flat e-valves are very streamlined and effective. One-way design keeps water out
The multiple dump feature means that when you depress the i3 lever, all of the flat e-valves open at once! No more reaching for the wrong valve
Custom backpack is thin to keep cylinder close to your center of gravity and efficiently distributes the cylinder weight
The Wrapture Harness System works in conjunction with the shoulder swivel buckles (patented) to prevent ride-up and supports the weight pockets
The patented SureLock™ II weight system provides a simple, single pull release. Loading is as simple as insert and 'click'
Pull down oral inflator is easy to deploy and stow
A strong retractor band is used to pull in the sides of the bladder while deflating
An adjustable chest strap can be raised and lowered on a rail system
HP and MP hose routings through the back keep your entire kit low profile thus minimizing drag
