I have used this BC on 4 dives so far and it has performed great. It works great above & below the surface, the integrated weight pockets & trim pockets work well. Basically this BC is very comfortable & performs as advertised.

Great BC but not a big fan of the weight system and the waist and shoulder straps are ridiculously long. The weight pockets do not stay in place and tend to shift drastically forward or back depending on your position in the water.

Rating: Great BC!!!!
Reviewer: Jacob Jordan
I purchased this BC as an open box/demo. When it came in I opened the box and looked the BC over-it looks brand new. It is a very nice BC. I love sherwood products and Scuba.com!

I have not used the Axis or the Oasis yet since ordering it but the local dive shop uses the same equipment for students and both owners use it for their personal equipment. Both have had number years of experience.

I like the back inflate style. Feels very non-restrictive and very lightweight. Almost has the feel of a travel BC! I would recommend this BC.

Questions and Answers for Sherwood Axis BC:

  • Jonathan:

Is this ok to use with nitrox?

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

    Yes

  • Jonathan:

Looking to use this in CA coastal waters 45-52 F average temp. Is this BCD/inflator recommended for this temp? I understand there is a risk of some BCD inflators "freezing open" from the cold.

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

This BC will work fine for CA waters.
