The hood is warm, and the quality is excellent. Even though it fits snugly, water will come in and get in your ears if you dont wear earplugs.

Im using it for swimming in cold Northwest waters. So far, so good. It is easy to put on & take off too. Quite warm and does not cut into my face because of some well designed edging.
