Hi. I where a skin and a 5 mill already and dont need to invest in a different system. What I want is an easy to get on hood that will tuck into the neck of my wet suit. Will this do it? This is for Carib diving but I dive off liveabords so am always cold by the end of the day.
Hello Carol, this hood is designed to zip-on a suit. If you are looking for a hood like this that would work for you take a look at this hood: http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-28/122959/SharkSkin-Covert-Electromagnetic-Trilaminate-Dive-Hood.html. This would give you the same warmth as a 2.5mm neoprene hood.
First, does this v-skin inferno zip-on trilaminate hood differ from the 5mm v-skin inferno zip-on just by the merino lining thinkness difference? Is the trilaminate the same thickness material as the v-skin inferno wetsuit and the 5mm just thicker? Also if I have 23.5 circumference around head, but also 19.5 neck, what size would I need? Would the 5mm be tighter around the neck than the trilaminate? Thanks for any answers.
Pinnacle's new V-skin line takes all the technical features that Pinnacle has developed over the years and incorporates them into a layering system that will add significant thermal protection without buoyancy.
The V-skin line has taken Pinnacle's patented Merino™ lining to another level by incorporating it into a tri-laminate material with a microporous membrane and high stretch outer lycra. This highly technical combination of materials will form perfectly to the body without causing restriction; the form fit creates the perfect water layer held in place by the impermeable membrane. When out of the water the microporous membrane acts as a barrier eliminating wind chill while allowing excess heat and moisture to escape. With strategically placed highly breathable bi-laminate Merino™ panels the new V-skin line is the most comfortable and thermally efficient product on the market today.
The new Inferno is the latest innovation from Pinnacle; it separates the thermal component
out of the wetsuit so that it can be used in any watersports activity.
