This hood kept my head very warm. I was diving off of the California North Coast and the water temp was 53 degrees. There wasnt a single moment where my head was cold. I would normally be a 2XL and that is the size I ordered, but I think I should probably have gone 3XL because this hood has very little give to it wich cause strain on my jaw. With this thickness of Neoprene, head movement is harder, but the warmth made it all worth it.

The 3mm Henderson Gold-Core hood has been an excellent addition to my dive gear. The increased warmth is amazing due to the conservation of heat normally lost through your head. This hood fits very well with no binding or loose spots to trap air. In came in very handy on a recent cool- water dive off the North Carolina coast. Henderson makes a great product and Scuba.com brings it to you at an incredible price!

I am very happy with this purchase. The sizing tends to error on the small, so take that into consideration when ordering. The hood stretches easily, unlike typical neoprene hoods. Easy on and off. Also because of the thinner material, I found it easier to hear my buddy topside. I bought the 5/3mm hood and it kept me plenty warm for Tahoe diving in early June.

This hood was comfortable, or at least as comfortable as a hood could be. I didnt get the rush of air around my mask like I did with my old one. It was warm at 100ft in 47 degree water.
