Rating: Great gloves

I am from southern Florida. I decided to go on a dive trip in the mountains of Montana. The water got down to 43 degrees! I was wearing a dry suit but did have these 5mm supratex palm gloves on. They worked great! Very happy with my purchase.

Nice gloves overall. The little finger was a bit long and they have already started to tear. I catch alot of lobster and scrape against alot of barnacles, so it is to be expected. I was hoping they would be a bit more tear resistant, but they are probably as good as any other glove Ive had.

Rating: Good for the low price

These gloves kept my hands warm in water that was in the low 50s for at least 45 minute intervals. They were a little cumbersome, but I would imagine any five millimeter gloves would be. Dont expect to manipulate fin strap releases with them on. Very good gloves for cold water.

Those gloves are not for Gold Dredging. They wouldnt last long with all the rough rocks. Maybe great for diving, but not for Gold Dredging.

Rating: Perfect gloves!
Reviewer: LaJuana M. Peterson
I routinely dive in an acquarium "blue hole" where the water temperature has averaged in the mid 50s in the winter. These gloves keep my hands WARM....and...the fish have a harder time trying to eat my fingers! GREAT purchase!

Rating: Flexible, comfortable and warm
Reviewer: Joseph Pizzuti  -  View all my reviews
I used the 5MM gloves for the first time off Rockaway Beach, NY, on November 18 and 19. They were flexible, comfortable and warm in water between 50 to 55 degrees. Honestly, my hands were never cold.

I dive in water that averages 60 degrees. The 5mm scubamax gloves give me a full hour without getting uncomfortable. The elastic velcro wrist-wraps are very easy to apply. The palms are tough enough to handle some digging around rocks without wearing out. I will buy another pair of the same when I need to replace them.

Questions and Answers for Scubamax 5mm Supratex Palm Diving Gloves:

GV-722 5mm SupraTex Gloves

5mm Neoprene gloves with SupraTex palm and adjustable one-inch Velcro wirst closure.

Your hands and fingers are thinner than the rest of your body, and are the first parts to get cold in a frigid environment. Add to that just how important your hands and fingers are, and how vital they are to swimming, checking diving equipment, holding equipment and making gear adjustments, and you'll find that cold water gloves are a necessity in certain environments. Rugged, thick, and warm, cold water gloves are best for temperatures of 35 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit (or 1 to 21 degrees Celsius).

Designed with tougher, water-resistant seams and warmer interior liners, cold water diving gloves provide warmth, comfort, and grip in even the iciest of waters.

ScubaMax Neoprene

Pockets of nitrogen gas inside the material create excellent insulation that protects the wearer from cold and helps to trap warm water against the diver's skin. It's also durable, and more resistant to abrasions and cuts, and also less susceptible to compression when diving deep.
