This bag is very large and can handle carrying a lot of items. We were able to fit 5 pairs of fins, booties, masks, and snorkels plus a BC and regulator in it! Took a little creativity and an overweight baggage fee, but we did it! Bag held up well to all of the weight.

Ok used this bag to go on a cruise and it was perfect! Tons and Tons of room and it will compact down into a large briefcase size for storage. Only thing is I wish there was straps on the inside to hold everything in place. This is a bag if you need to pack a lot of gear. With scuba gear everything will hold in place much better. The light weight is great and the construction is tough. The lighter weight comes from not having an telescoping handle. It does have a nice handle to pull it with nice sturdy wheels. Will be using it with dive gear in May when I head to Roatan.

Great bag, just got back from Playa/Cozumel and will not go anywhere without this bag. Fit all my gear including 2 wetsuits and my extra set of fins. still had room to spare. Could easily load two full sets without any issues.

Questions and Answers for ScubaPro 8.9 lbs Porter Roller Backpack Bag:

  • Valeria:

Do you have the brand new Scubapro Porter Bag model or only this one (thats the previous one)? Id like a comparison between them (material, size, weight, pouches, handles, straps and so on). Thanks a lot

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

This is still the previous version that Scubapro is still currently shipping.

  • jake:

How padded is it? what is the protection for your scuba gear in the bag? i do a lot of traveling and i dont want my gear to break.

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Any of the bags designed for scuba gear are fairly well padded and designed to hold dry or wet gear. The denier on the material tells you how heavy duty or thick the material is on the bag. 1000 to 1200 is very durable, but will be weigh more.

  • Valeria:

Can you please compare this bag to this other one from the link below ? I mean the differences, advantages/disadvantages between them? http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-26/018487/Mares-Cruise-Roller-Backpack-Dive-Bag.html

Bill  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

The Scubapro is a bigger, more heavy duty bag and has the pockets for the fins on the outside. Both do not have the telescoping handle so the taller bag will be easier to roll.

  • Rod:

This bag appears to exceed the deminsions for checked luggage on almost all airlines. Am I missing something?

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

According to Scubapro it has been designed to meet the baggage size allowances for all US Domestic Air Carriers.

  • Bob:

    What is the external material?

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Bob, that questions would need to be answered by the manufacture directly. Here is there contact phone number: (800) 467-2822.

  • Vicki:

What is the internal size? Will this roller backpack big enough for something that is 85cm H x 50cm W x 15cm D?

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

    Hello Vicki, the inside measurements are 32" x 18" x 10".

  • B:

What is the warranty on this bag

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

The manufacturer offers a 1 year warranty that the bag will be free of manufacturing defects.
