Hello Ellyce, when you are sizing a wetsuit or dive skin. The 2 most important measurements are your Chest/Bust and Waist. Then Height is a secondary measurements and weight you throw out the window. Wetsuits designated for men/women have a different fit for the particular gender.
Are all new neosport wetsuits made out of the Xpan neoprene? Is there a difference between the "Premium Neoprene and Xpan neoprene?
I cant decide between XL and XXL sizes for 3mm shorty by Neosport. What is better: to have it slightly bigger or slightly tight?
Hello Gene, you want the suit to be snug. when you are sizing a wetsuit or dive skin. The two most important measurements are going to be your chest/bust and waist. Height is a secondary measurement and weight is the last measurement you take into account.
i wear a size medium normally is it okay to wear a size large for more space
By going up a size to allow for more space you defeat the purpose of a proper fitting wetsuit. It needs to be snug in order to do it''s job correctly. The concept of how a wetsuit works is by keeping an thin layer of water between the body and the suit you will be warmest. Your body creates the heat and the suit is the insulator, very similar to how the blankets on a bed work. The water is the conductor of the heat. If there is too much water in a suit it cools faster (remember, water dissipates heat 4 times faster than air) meaning your body has to work harder to keep reheating the water in the suit. Eventually your body won''t be able to keep up and you''ll get cold faster.
When you need a little more warmth, the 3mm shorty delivers with excellent core-warming capability and an anatomical fit that’s easy to swim in. Flatlock seam construction is both highly durable and helps prevent chaffing against the skin. Like the 2mm version, it uses an adjustable collar to give divers a secure and comfortable seal at the neck
