Rating: Outstanding wetsuit for kids!
Reviewer: Inna M.,
Weve used these shorty wetsuits for years and are extremely pleased with the quality. My kids find them warm and comfortable. I find them durable and able to stand up very well to years of wear. Wetsuits have to be tight to keep you warm, so assure your kids that although the wetsuit will feel tight when you first put it on dry, it will loosen up in the water. We find that the wetsuits run large ... have consistently purchased suits that are smaller in size than the age of our children because we want them tight (age 6 daughter wore a size 4 suit, age 11 daughter wore a size 8.)

I bought two of these for our grandsons, age 10 and 11, who are newly certified divers, as added warmth over their dive suits for Cozumel. They are both tall and thin(about 411", 70lbs). The size small (10) fit them both perfectly and still gives room to grow in the body, both length and width. They are constructed like our adult suits, so will wear well and provide protection and warmth, and can be worn alone playing in the ocean.

Rating: Great for Swimming Lessons
Reviewer: Edward S.,
We bought this wetsuit for our son to keep him warmer during winter swim lessons. Not only did he stay happier in the pool, the added buoyancy helped him transition to swimming without added flotation. When summer arrives, were looking forward to the beach, where the water will still be pretty cold, so this suit should be a big plus. I think a few other parents will be shopping for a shorty suit for their kids after seeing this one.

Rating: yes, buy the wetsuit for your child
Reviewer: Katherine B.,
My 10 year old gets very cold when swimming in a pool. We were heading to Canada where I knew he would encounter colder water. He was able to enjoy excursions in the water because of his wetsuit. I talked to one of the sizing experts before buying because his height and weight were not matching a specific size, they were very helpful and the fit was great. Looks like he can wear it again next year. I have a dive shop that can sell the suit on consignment when outgrown, so there are ways to pass it onto others. Definitely worth it to see him have fun without getting blue so quickly.

Rating: Excellent fit - Good value
Reviewer: Joseph G.,
Fits great and has really extended the time that my grandson can stay in the water without getting cold. We use in the ocean and in our unheated pool. I was concerned that it might chaff his neck and be uncomfortable, but that has not been the case. He wears it the entire time we are at the beach, even when hes playing in the sand.

Rating: Great Wetsuit
Reviewer: Leah T.,
We needed something to keep our skinny 5 year old boy warm at an indoor waterpark. It was perfect for warmth. The only problem was the neckline. It rubbed against his neck and made it raw. I would recommend a turtleneck neoprene shirt underneath. We ordered the size according to the sizing chart and it fit perfectly.

Rating: Way Cute!!!
Reviewer: Stacie Baird,
This wetsuit is more than adorable on our 3 year old!!! The only problem that I have with it is that it is a little lose around the legs. I think the fit overall is as good as you could get for a 3 year old without having something custom made. The value is great and hopefully we can pass it on through the years.

I bought myself a Henderson Shorty and bought this Henderson 3mm Childs Thermoprene Shorty for my 7 year old daughter.
So hard to find a kid’s wetsuit for 7 years old that have any real amount of thermal protection. The Henderson 3mm Thermoprene was the answer. I daughter is very comfortable with it and provides good thermal protection for a 3mm wetsuit. She plays in the sand and snorkels all day without discomfort.
Another nice added value is since wetsuits are buoyant, it helps out snorkeling for extended periods of time.
Overall, I recommend this wetsuit for thermal and sun protection.

Rating: Wetsuit
Reviewer: Margaret Peters,
very pleased with this purchase. bought these wetsuits for multiple purposes the beach, our pool and jetskiing. i ordered two sizes for both my kids that are 6 and 10 to make sure they had the right fit and returned the others with no hassles.customer service is very helpful with sizing and finding the right suit for us. i would say suits are true to size. we were going to the beach in maine and the water is beyond cold! great to block out the sun and definitely with the 60 degree water. wetsuit is easy to get on and off. suit is soft and very flexible and is made well to protect against shafing.i would highly recommend purchasing from scuba.com and particlurly these suits.
Questions and Answers for Henderson 3mm Childs / Juniors Thermoprene Shorty Wetsuit:
Glenn:
will this wetsuit provide buoyancy for my son to confidently snorkel?
Clarke (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Hello Glenn, Thank you for your inquiry. The Henderson 3mm Childs / Juniors Thermoprene Shorty Wetsuit will provide “some” buoyancy assist. The thicker the wet suit will give the snorkeler or diver more buoyancy. But it is always recommended that a snorkeler or free diver wear a snorkeling vest and is ideal for the unique requirements of snorkelers. Snorkeling vests are worn on the front and held in place with straps around the back, through the crotch and commonly referred to as a Horse Collar style vest. http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-39/006500/Scuba-Deluxe-Snorkel-Vest-with-Crotch-Strap.html The other style is a Jacket Style Snorkeling Vest. http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-5/004417/Innovative-Jacket-Style-Snorkeling-Vest.html You fill the vest by blowing air into it with your mouth. A little air in the vest can make a snorkeler more confident, and lots of air inside the vest or jacket allows anyone to rest comfortably at the surface. Snorkeling vests are becoming more popular every year. Please use a snorkel vest if you are not a good swimmer or if swimming far off shore. Resorts and Cruise Lines Are requiring the use of a snorkel vest now. Please give us a call if you have any questions or if you would like to place an order: 1-949-221-9300.

Hello,
Do you carry lycra springsuits (shorty bodysuits?) for kids? Body boarding in the Mediterranean. Neoprene too warm and restrictive for that purpose. Girls or unisex, weight 75 lb, height 57". Thank you.

My son is 36" tall (3) and only 25 pounds. With a chest of only 19.5" Im not sure the size small (2) will fit him. What size are the arm/leg holes? If they are too big, the rest wont matter! Some brands run tighter than others...

Hi Cathy, that shorty wetsuit will be to big on your son.
