this suit can be use for swim in cold water
Yes, the Thermoprene material is very flexible. Keep in mind chest and waist are the most important measurements when picking a size.
Shorties and any suit of a 3mm thickness are generally considered warm water suits. Swimmers create a great deal more heat inside thier suit than a diver does as they are moving more while they swim, but 3mm of neoprene can still offer only so much thermal value. For a swimmer this suit would still be functional in the 60-75 degree range.
I found two different size charts for thermoprene. I am size 10. The weight is 120-130 lbs or up to 130 lbs.?
When I received my diving certification on Maui, I was told that my suit was a ML. No additional comments. My chest measurement is 43 and my midsection, above/at the bulge is 41/43. I am not able to read the lower lines of the womens size chart, but I assume that the dive shop uses only mens suits. I have read enough to know to disregard the weight and height categories, but I am particularly long in the body. I am looking at the Henderson 3 mm Thermoprene front zip shortie, for use on winter holidays in warm climates, (snorkeling and possibly diving), as well as trying to extend the seasonal use of our newly purchased(12" dia) pool. We live just north of the 49th parallel. We have alternate FREE possibilities for heating the water, but I thought a suit might also help. Could you advise me regarding size please. I am a female construction worker, and farmer, and am built like one. Thanks. Marilyn Hicks
Chest and waist are the measurements that are important. There is no way to adjust for torso length. In a shorty 3mm material height will not be the deciding factor. A woman can fit into a mans suit if the measurements look better. As long as the item is not used in the water you have 60 days to refund or exchange it.
I am a large woman. My bust is 46 waist is38 and weight 195 lbs. I like the henderson shorty but am not sure which size to get the 4x or 6x. Can you assist?
My measurements and weight do not fit into the size chart. My waist is 32 and chest is 35 which puts me at a large, but my weight is 137 which puts me in the XL category. Which size should I go with? Thanks
Diving St Thomas & St Kitts this November. Is a shorty sufficient for body warm in those area during that time of year. After going to Grand Cayman in January. Appreciate any feedback prior to making decision on which product to purchase for my fiancé and me. Thanks!
Hello Bob, if you are looking for a shorty and a little warmer. Than take a look at the http://www.scuba.com/scuba-gear-42/150595/Pinnacle-5mm-Escape-5-Front-Zip-Shorty-Wetsuit.html. I think that would work better for you in that time of year.
