Slates were used for students to write what the instructor and/or buddy signed as well as reading required information to sign to buddy. Slates arrived in a timely fashion and were as described. Pencils may be difficult to replace. Graphite did not significantly wear off during use in fresh water. Reasonable price.

Lets face it, hand signals are great- but sometimes they are just not enough! If you Tech, Cave or Wreck dive, sometimes plans change when you are under the water! This light little carry along can make that inaudable conversation so much easier ans so much safer!

I have a number of slates. This is a favorite. Big enough for notes but not so large as to get in the way. Very nice attaching clip and pencil holder.

Ive only used this slate for a couple of dives, but it performs well...the pencil is solidly attached, writes clearly, erases easily...the pencil swelled up when immersed in water, which was no surprise once I thought about it, and hasnt affected its function...the snap attachment seems robust, and works easily, though may be a little small for those wearing thick gloves...you may find, as I have, that the large size slate has more surface area than you need...still it isnt bulky or awkward, and is probably just right for teachers, dive guides, frustrated talkers or others with a need to communicate more or more precise info while underwater.

A nice large slate that is good when communicating with a large group. Also good on dive trips to note dive location and information for later entry into your log book.
