Rating: Nice idea . . . poor execution.
Reviewer: fun n., Sunday, April 15, 2007 - View all my reviews
Excited to show it off to my dive buddies whos forever immortalized with a picture of his dive slate floating in the deep, unbeknownst to him.
Cons:
1) For large forearms, not designed to be worn before strapping on the BC, unless you have detachable buckles on your shoulder harness.
2) Hard to write on a curved surface. Itd almost be better if it was flat with concave feet to fit your forearm.
3) Poor retention strap: The elastic velcro strap is way too flimsy to hold fast to your arm. The smooth back allows it to spin around your arm easily. I had to glue a thin foam pad to the back to help it stay in place. Now I still need to beef up the strap.
4) Weak o-rings: The pages keep flipping open when you move your arm in water, or when trying to don your BC with it strapped on.
All in all, has promise, but needs a lot of customization.

Rating: Can you hear me now?
Reviewer: Brian Olson Instructor, Thursday, August 24, 2006
What a great way to communicate! In an environment thats hard to talk in, this little slate stows out of the way on your wrist where its easy to see and easy to get at. This is small in physical size, but big on space. Four of the five pages have two sides for those with a lot to say. I have used one slate for three dives without having to clean it off or replace it. When it is time to clean up, slate cleaner makes quick work of it. This is definitely in my bag for all my trips.

Rating: Love my dive slate!
Reviewer: Gloria Dye, Thursday, September 21, 2006
I bought the wrist dive slates for myself and my dive partner and they were great! Even the dive master who dived with me was impressed with the ease of access. No more digging into BCD pockets or hanging slates to tangle up. The wrist dive slate attaches to the arm and is easily written on and read by your buddies underwater. The multiple pages make it very convenient as well. Id recommend this product to anyone who wants a convenient slate for communications.

the writing slate works best when using a wetsuit.it is less prone to move about when stroaking your arms underwater,,when
it is used mounted over the skin it tends to slip down towards the elbow.
the pencil should be changed to one with a heavyer graphite as it is hard to read under water.other than that it works well.also the slate cleaner works very well and only need a or two to clean the slate.

this slate writes farly well and cleans easily. the pencil holder works well as long as the pencil is not pushed too far into it. i have two complaints: 1) the band is too big i cant tighten it enough to kep the slate from getting loose and turning. 2) the "rubber bands" that hold the plates/pages coudl be stronger strong water movement has a tendency to open the slate.

This is a great product if you want to carry a lot of information. Im a rebreather student and Ive entered reference info on the slate for contingency planning underwater and other info for dive planning. The 5 pages allows me to carry all my reference info and still have plenty of room left for entering data on the dive.
Enjoy! Mike

Rating: Great for mapping projects
Reviewer: john brandon, Saturday, October 14, 2006
My wife and i used the slates in St.Croix for our Divemaster mapping project. The multiple panels made it easy to get all the details and numbers we needed to complete the project. The extra pencils and o-ring bands to keep tension on the panels were a nice touch. We always get great value at scuba.com. John Brandon, Master Scuba Diver

Rating: What a great slate!!!

This really made things easier for me! I did have to shorten the strap, as it was WAY too big for my wrist, but that was no big deal for me, as I sew. However, for ladies who dont sew, it would be good to have them with shorter straps for the smaller wrists. Wish I had bought one years ago!

Rating: What an innovative product!

I needed a good dive slate, but this one is really ingenious. With pages that flip you can pre-write a number of messages (especially handy with students) and then flip from one to the next with ease. Was really impressed with the simple but durable design. Great idea!

Rating: Good idea but needs a couple of changes
Reviewer: Nicola R., Tuesday, January 16, 2007
This slate is a great idea but I found the strap too big and it would be better if it had the 2 extra elastic pieces either side like other slate have. Also the pencil is hard to get out of the holder when its wet and youre wearing gloves.

the 5-page wrist dive slate is very easy and convenient to use. I like the accessability of the slate, it is not hanging from the BCD or in a hard to reach pocket. Pre write dive info for quick access during your dive. Great product.

This wrist slate is easy to read, comfortable to wear and works great even with gloves on. Using it takes one more item off of your BCD and on your wrist it cant get tangled with anything else. Comes with an extra pencil and bands.

Its a bit more fancy in the page flipping mechanizm than the ones I am used to and I have to admit I was a little worried if it would hold up but Ive had it on some rough dives and so far so good. Works good and great price.

Rating: A slate that doesnt trail...
Reviewer: Stephen G., Saturday, May 19, 2007 - View all my reviews
Whenever I use a dive slate it usually ends up (at least for part of the dive) being towed behind me on its lanyard. This wrist slate seems to give me the writing area of my traditional one in a hard-to-misplace package.

Rating: Less of a Xmas tree look.
Reviewer: Thomas Horowitz, Thursday, January 11, 2007 - View all my reviews
Most slates hang (like so much other gear) from a diver like ornaments from a Xmas tree. This is on the wrist and mostly stays out of the way. The pencil is only fair, but otherwise works well.
