David:
I wear a size 9 shoe, what size dive fin should I Wear? Is A smaller tighter fin better?

Hello David, I see you are asking the same questions for the different fins. You are going to order the size range that fits your size 9 foot. If you have any other questions please feel free to give us a call at 1.800.347.2822.
JR:
I broke my ankle several years ago and havent found a fin that doesnt hurt like heck. Is the split fin easier on the ankle?

:
A split fin will be your best choice.
Scott:
I wear size 10 shoe. I train in the pool with Zoomer short fins, but I wear neoprene socks to prevent blisters. I plan to swim a multiple mile outdoor distance event using high performance fins. My inclination is to again wear neoprene socks inside the Atomics to prevent blisters. Is that a reasonable thing to do? If I wear the socks should I purchase 10.5 - 11.5 size?
Greg (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
Wearing fins socks will help with the blisters. Adjusting the fin size to accommodate the socks would depend on the sock thickness. For 1mm socks to not adjust the full foot fin size. For 3mm socks, move up one size.

I am looking at ordering him the Atomic full foot high performance split fin for my husband. My husband has a wider size 14 foot. With such a large foot I dont think the fin would fit right with a sock. Is the fin foot soft and comfortable enough to snorkel in without the socks?
Bill (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com)
:
The fins are designed to use without socks. They should fit snug on the feet.
Rick:
Trying to buy full foot fins for my future son in law. But he wears a size 15 shoe. Any hope?

You can usually go down one size on full foot fins. As long as the item is not used in the water you have up to 60 days to refund or exchange it.

How Atomic Aquatics SplitFins Work
SplitFin Wings “Slice” Through the Water Traditional paddle fins work by pushing water rearward. As a paddle fin is pushed through the water, much of the water spills over the top surface of the blade and sticks to it, creating drag. Extra kicking effort is required to overcome that drag. The Atomic SplitFin slices through the water with two wing-shaped surfaces, creating lift and forward propulsion more like a propeller. Any water traveling over the top of the blade is funneled into and out of the opening (split) between the wings. Drag is reduced, effort is reduced, and efficiency is increased.
Propeller-Fin™ Technology Moves You Faster Atomic Aquatics SplitFins use Propeller-Fin Technology to deliver ultra-high speeds with a small-range rapid flutter kick. This works in the same manner that increasing the RPM on a boat propeller accelerates a boat to high speeds.
Multi-Composite Plastics And Other Uniquely Atomic Features The Atomic signature is our use of exotic materials specifically designed to improve performance. We developed multi-composite plastics for the SplitFins to maximize the efficiency of the kick with less fatigue. Flexible side rails and a stiff foot pocket are combined with stiff battens in the blade to control the flex pattern for optimum performance. Our patented EZ-LOK Buckle System is one of those distinct Atomic features that make divers love us even more.
