Rating: CRITICAL FOR SAFETY

Every diver should have a pony bottle and this size was easy to deal with, light and no hassles to carry on your rig. Absolutely no worries from TSA on 14 flights, I just took out the valve prior to packing into my luggage. Would you parachute without a reserve chute?

Absolutely a MUST have for any diver that dives below 40 to 60 ft!!! Already had to use it once. A dive partner had a leak in his equip and was out of air at 108ft! Great value and is perfect to come up from 100+ ft including a safety stop. Perfect price as well.

Questions and Answers for Sherwood 13 Cubic Foot Aluminum Tank:

  • Freddy:

How long will a 13 cubic feet tank give me of breathing air?

Greg  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Breathing time is dependent on your depth and experience. This tank should be used as an emergency back up supply to get you back to the surface.

  • Mike:

Can anyone tell me the empty air volume of volume of the Sherwood 13in AL tank (at empty valve off ATM pressure). Im doing some pressure volume calculations. It would be very nice to have a good number to start with. Thanks to all.

TANKS & VALVES: Sherwood Valve

PRODUCT FEATURES
The most used valve in diving. The critical link between your regulator and tank, our patented Sherwood valve was designed specifically to handle today’s high-performance regulators.

Aluminum Tanks
Aluminum tanks are cost efficient, long lasting, and readily available, which is why they are easily the most common scuba diving tanks in the world. Lighter than steel tanks, aluminum dive tanks are easier to transport and swim with, giving your shoulders and arms a break on long treks.

Because of their light weight, some aluminum tanks will begin to float at the end of a dive, once the oxygen supply is nearly depleted. To combat this, it's common to counter-weight an aluminum dive tank with approximately 4 pounds. However, 'Compact Neutral' aluminum tanks are made with thicker walls, which increase the weight and help to counteract the positive buoyancy problems at the end of a long dive.
