Rating: Seawing Nova Gorilla
Reviewer: Pyone M.
I just used it my last dive trip In Hawaii. It is really good in current. I used split fins before and had difficulty in keeping up with my buddy in strong current. With Seawig Nova, I had no problem in current. I give only 4 star now because I do not know the durability in long term use.

Questions and Answers for ScubaPro Seawing Gorilla Adjustable Bungee Strap Dive Fins:

  • Joonbum:

I saw the price of these fins were 99.9$ in your website yesterday, but now the price became double! What happened to those fins?

Greg  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Our site is based on a dynamic IP that allows it to automatically compete with local retailers in other regions around the country. If a retailer local to the computer you are using is offering a price lower than our normal pricing our site will adjust automatically in that area only to remain competitive in that area. Other regions of the country not competing with another local retailer will see our normal prices which are typically the minimum price allowed by the manufacturers for an authorized dealer. This means it’s entirely possible for you to search from one computer and see a price then search again from another location such as home or work and find a completely different price.

  • erika:

the smallest size seawing nova fins are still too big for my size 6 womens feet. what boots do you have that are the thickest to help fill in the foot pocket better? ...or do you have an adjuster or another suggestion?

Bob  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

You'd want to look at any manufacturer's 6.5mm or 7mm Hard Sole or Heavy Duty Sole boots. That would take the most space up inside your fins.

  • tammy:

are there replacement straps available for these fins

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

  • irianto:

What a different seawing nova fin and seawing nova gorilla??look like same product...

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Irianto, the gorilla, are a closeout item limited to stock on hand. This is a discontinued fin no longer made. The newer design fin is the SeaWing Nova. If you would like to place an order or have any other questions please feel free to give us a call at 1.800.347.2822.

  • Sean:

How do these compare in performance for snorkeling and spear fishing compared to the Oceanic V-16 dive fins? How about to the swim fins Oceanic V-6 or Mares Volo Race? These sound like truly exceptional fins but I dont wish to waste money!

Arthur  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

The scuba pro fins and the volo's would work best for snorkeling and spear fishing due to their length.

  • Rich:

Can a giant step entry be a problem with this fin?

Darrick  (Certified Scuba Instructor at Scuba.com):

Hello Rich, the fin length is 29" sop no you should not have a issue doing a giant stride into the water off a boat or a platform.

The successor to the famous SCUBAPRO Gorilla fins of the 1980s, this new version of the award-winning Seawing Nova has been fine-tuned to provide a slight increase in stiffness and snap. They give you more power, more speed and even better frog-kick-ability while at the same time ensuring they still offer the legendary comfort and efficiency of Seawings! The GORILLAs are ideal for those diving in demanding conditions!

  • The articulated joint allows the blade to pivot and the entire blade is able to generate thrust. Pivot control technology ensures the most efficient  angle of attack is maintained no matter how hard or softly you kick, generating thrust without drag or wasted energy.
  • Clean water blade geometry for optimum propulsion. Water is free to flow onto the working section of the blade, drag is reduced and thrust increased.
  • Variable pivot control ribs insures that the most efficient angle of attack is maintained across all strengths of kick.
  • Ergonomic foot pocket with extended heel plate insuring ultimate power transmission with less leg strain.
  • Durable Monprene® construction making SeaWing virtually indestructible.
  • Wing tips arc upwards, increasing high-speed  stability.
  • Marine quality bungee heel strap with custom adjustment system for total comfort and convenience.
