Rating: Better than newer model, more expensive fins
Reviewer: Ken Reinstadler, Saturday, September 03, 2011 - View all my reviews
I bought my wife a pair of new, more expensive TUSA fins for our trip to Bonaire. She owned a pair of TUSA Liberators for years, but the buckle assembly broke so I thought she would like this new model, and (improved) fins... not so. She felt they didnt propel her adequately in the pool, and she probably just could adjust to them... SO, I contacted Scuba.Com and they took the new ones back, and we bought a newer version of the old Liberators. She loves them! We just finished the Bonaire trip and she raved how good they were. Sometimes old school is just better!

The Liberator fins are a very good economical choice. The one thing Ive noticed about TUSA fins is that they are a little bit on the large size. My wife has the Liberators & I have the X-pert Zooms and both of them are big (thats with booties).

Rating: Easy to use flippers

These are comfortable and fit great. As well as easy to slip on and adjust. These fins are easy to take off and no problems washing them. The rubber on the top part of the fin is soft and supple. I’d still recommend using a diving boot or sock with the fins just so you don’t have any irritation from sand that could get between you and the rubber.

These fit well. My husband loves that you can adjust the strap and then release to remove without changing the adjustment on them.

Rating: Tusa Liberator X-Ten Fins - No BS Assessment
Reviewer: Donald A. Dutcher, Sunday, July 06, 2008
The best part about these fins besides the price is the open heel design with the replaceable quick release buckle straps. Unlike full foot fins if the strap breaks, replace it and keep on diving / snorkelling. While these fins are a bit low end for serious divers, they are head and shoulders above the junk you get in the sporting goods or department stores. BOTTOM LINE: I am a rocket fin guy. If you are going to scuba then get a pair of vented fins. If you just want a quality pair of fins for snorkelling without breaking the bank, these are the fins for you. Get the black. They look great!

Rating: Great Fins for a Great Price

I dont know why anyone would want to spend $100.00 or more for fins when you can get these fins for under $30.00. Adjusting them are as easy as a quick tug on the strap. Have had no problems with fatigue on dives or snorkeling swims of over an hour.

Rating: Heavy Duty Fins

these fins are great and the prices is awesome. they are sturdy and very adjustable. they are high quality. they provide very strong propulsion underwater with minimal effort. however, they did not make my legs tired, as would be expected from a large, non-split fin. my only complaint is that they are slightly too big for a womens size 5, so my foot rubs against the top edge of the fins. i wear them with fin socks and this makes the fit much more snug and prevents any chafing from the fin against my feet.

I used the fins on a recent trip and found them to be very efficient in giving power to strokes necessary to go down quickly while snorkeling. They are large but light. I liked the quick release straps which allow you to take them off while getting into and out of the surf.

Bought for my wife and I. Used on two dives in Cayman & Cozumel. Love the adjustable strap on the fins. Probably should have purchased booties to wear with them. The plastic housing around your feet is a little hard. I wore socks which worked fine for me but my wife developed some blisters/wearing on her feet. Other than that I thought they were great fins for the money.

Ive bought 3 pairs of these, one for myself, boyfriend, and mother. theyre a great fin for snorkel and scuba, very flexible needing little power to propel yourself. Id say they are probably geared more towards beginners like myself, simply because they are very flexible whereas more advanced snorkelers and divers may use more rigid fins built more for speed. the price cant be beat either! you get a top name brand for around $30!
